12 poeng til play-off. 13 til direkte opprykk. Fortsatt 15 til top of the league.

Nottingham Forest - Leeds preview

Spillforslag:

HT/FT – Leeds/Nottm Forest – odds 29 (Bet365, Stan James)
HT/FT – Nottm Forest/Leeds – odds 34 (Bet365, Skybet, Stan James)
Leeds to win – odds 3,4 (Stan James)
Resultattips – Forest to win 2-1 – odds 9,5 (Centrebet)
Resultattips – Leeds to win 2-1 – odds 11,0 (mange)

LEEDS SNATCH LAST-GASP VICTORY
An injury-time winner from Jermaine Beckford saw off Nottingham Forest 2-1 and wiped another three points off Leeds' deficit at the City Ground.
The victory made it three League One wins out of three for Dennis Wise's side as they continue to answer their 15-point Football League punishment in style.
They were made to battle through a difficult second half as Forest, second best for much of the opening half, made a spirited comeback but Beckford's winner came too late to give the home side any chance of a second response.
Leeds had taken a 17th-minute lead when Tresor Kandol turned past Wes Morgan to fire a right-foot shot across Forest goalkeeper Paul Smith and into the far corner of the net.
They could have added to their advantage with Smith having to make an instinctive save to keep out a close-range effort from former Forest midfielder David Prutton.
But Forest were back in the game five minutes after half-time when Kris Commons' free-kick from the touchline was allowed to sneak in at the far post.
Forest had the chance to win it after that but they were stunned in the last minute when substitute Jonathan Howson slid a ball towards the far post, where Beckford fired into the roof of the net.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 LEEDS 2
Jermaine Beckford was the last-minute goal hero as Leeds United took another giant step towards the promised land of no points.
The Elland Road side, docked 15 points by the Football League for breaking financial rules, have now recorded three wins out of three.
They are still rooted at the bottom of the table with minus six points but, on this showing, it will not be long before their fans will have to stop merrily singing: "We're bottom of the League". Last-minute goals are something of a Leeds speciality this season.
Tresor Kandol grabbed one in the opening day 2-1 win over Tranmere and Leeds bagged two more injury-time goals in last Saturday's 4-1 stuffing of Southend.
Yesterday, itwas Beckford's turn to clinch the winner. Midfielder Sebastien Carole's 89th-minute shot from the edge of the box was turned in from close range by the alert Beckford.
Delighted Leeds boss Dennis Wise said: "We had the better of the first half while Forest had the second so a win was a bit fortunate. Butwe've got goalscorers who are a handful. told Beckford to stay on and that he would get the winner.
"Forest have kicked him and pushed him, given him a lot of stick off the ball, but he's a good character and a good goalscorer."
Wise is now hoping home wins over Luton and Hartlepool will wipe out the minus points deficit.
Leeds went ahead after 17 minutes when Kandol combined with strike partner Beckford for one-two that carved open Forest's rearguard. The striker thumped the ball across keeper Paul Smith and it thudded in off the foot of the far post.
Leeds could have made it 2-0 when Alan Thompson's corner rebounded off Leeds midfielder David Prutton only for Smith to tip the ball over the bar. Forest, jeered by their fans at the break, levelled on 50 minutes when Kris Commons curled over a 40-yard free-kick from the right flank that sneaked through an army of legs and went in off the hand of keeper Casper Ankergren.
Forest should have taken a lead but Commons's shotwas blocked by Rui Marques. Then Felix Bastians took a cut-back from Nathan Tyson and misdirected his shot wide from 12 yards out.
Forest boss Colin Calderwood said: "The second half was the best we've played this season. There's no need to hide our heads in shame. We need to stick together and reproduce that display."

Jermaine Beckford excels as fallen giants meet
Nottingham Forest (0) 1 Leeds United (1) 2

Here was a fixture sepia-tinted enough to satisfy the hungriest nostalgia-hound. A fixture, too, to stir the curiosity. How are these two giants of the past faring down in what used to be the Third Division of English football? Is either of them capable of making the long climb back to the dizzy heights of the Premier League, where both could still be found not all that long ago?
On the evidence of this keenly contested, lunchtime game, both are entitled to dream dreams of promotion. Leeds certainly are, 15-point handicap or no 15-point handicap, after starting the season with three successive wins.
Manager Dennis Wise said before the game that victory here, against the pre-season favourites, would frighten the life out of a few people.
He was less bullish after it, conceding that his team were lucky to win with a late goal by Jermaine Beckford and declining to talk about the possibility of getting back into the Championship at the first attempt. "We need to get 70 points, which is 55 points, really, with the minus 15," he said. "We need to get safe first. As soon as we get safe, then we can carry on doing what we're doing. From there, hopefully, we'll have the next target and we'll see. Today, we were fortunate. First half, I think we were better: second half, they were a lot better than us."
Forest's second half revival was impressive enough to suggest that, once they get their strikers back in full working order, they can repeat last season's achievement of reaching the play-offs, at the very least. "There's no need to hide your head in shame over the way we played today," declared manager Colin Calderwood. "I'm very, very happy with it. I think we've displayed to the fans that there's a lot more to be encouraged about compared to the points total [two]. But we are very aware that we need to get the [first] victory. It looked as though it would come today, but it didn't."
The home support were not too happy, though, about a first half performance so artless and aimless, it would have made Brian Clough weep. During that period, Leeds' noisy, enthusiastic following of 3,000 fans gloried in their composed, well-organised team's mastery of the opposition. That was especially true up front, where Tresor Kandol and Beckford tormented the home defence.
Leeds' first goal, in the 17th minute, was a perfect demonstration of their lethal understanding. Nudging on a longish ball from right-back Frazer Richardson, Beckford crafted it neatly into a short through pass for his partner. Turning his marker, Kandol drove a shot in off the post.
The balance of power shifted remarkably at the start of the second half. Attacking with a vim and determination rarely visible before the interval, Forest not only equalised but threatened to overrun Leeds.
They drew level when the lively, imaginative Kris Commons took a free-kick way out on the right touchline with his left foot. When he swung the kick into a crowded goalmouth, it was difficult to tell whether anyone got a final touch before the ball eluded Leeds goalkeeper Casper Ankergren and ended up in the back of the net. Most credited the goal to Commons.
But that was only the half of it. James Perch and Commons both went close to giving Forest the lead before a prone Rui Marques somehow blocked Commons' close-range shot when all seemed lost for Leeds. Felix Bastians, too, ought to have scored when he spun on a low centre from substitute Nathan Tyson and shot wide.
Forest's punishment for being so profligate was to see Beckford steal in to plonk the ball into the roof of the net when Sebastien Carole made an enterprising run through the middle and finished with a toe-poke that turned into a telling pass.
