Kamp 15/3:

HONOURS EVEN AT CITY GROUND
League One play-off rivals Nottingham Forest and Walsall had to settle for a point each as a lively game at the City Ground finished 1-1.
But a draw was little use to either side's outside chances of clinching one of the two automatic promotion points.
Forest had the bulk of the pressure but it was six minutes after the break before the made a breakthrough with Brett Ormerod's first goal since joining them on loan from Preston.
He converted Nathan Tyson's cross from the left but immediately afterwards Ormerod missed a superb opportunity of adding a second.
And all Forest's work was undone three minutes later when Walsall skipper Tommy Mooney was allowed to beat goalkeeper Paul Smith in the air to a Edrissa Sonko cross and his header was deflected into the net by Forest defender Kelvin Wilson.
For all Forest's pressure, Walsall twice went close to snatching a winner when midfielder Mark Bradley had a header cleared off the line by Sammy Clingan and saw a second effort bounce off the top of the crossbar.

Tror at kampen starter kl 18.20, norsk tid...?

Her dømte også PL-dommer Halsey.

Et drawback at Hughes må stå over Walsall og Brighton.
Hvem skal spill v.back da?

Six-pointers will be key, says McAllister

With a week of unfulfilled promise behind him, Gary McAllister is banking on a flood of six-pointers to uncover the beast in Leeds United.
McAllister expected his players to impose on League One's play-off zone during the past seven days, but their unrewarding experience of playing clubs concerned with relegation will now require Leeds to exert themselves over teams in the top half of the division.
United's manager has spoken before about losing himself in hard work when the pressure of chasing promotion comes to bear and the acquisition of just four points from games against Bournemouth, Cheltenham Town and Port Vale have ensured that Leeds will receive no respite before the end of the season.
Walsall visit Elland Road on Saturday in possession of League One's final play-off position and the match is the first of five which will pit Leeds against different rivals for promotion.
United host Brighton seven days after their contest with Walsall and the Elland Road side will visit Leyton Orient and Doncaster Rovers before Carlisle United come to Leeds on April 12.
United have fallen short of McAllister's expectations during the past three games and the 3-3 draw at Port Vale on Saturday dropped them to 10th position in League One.
After failing to take advantage of a spell which promised to yield nine points but which saw Leeds drop five, McAllister is relying on the pivotal nature of the matches ahead to inspire a display of consistency from his players.
United's manager said: "We've got a few games against teams in and around us now. That might be a good thing.
"People will be looking at us and saying our push is fading a little, but I can assure them that we'll be working extremely hard to get ourselves back up there.
"I've got a group of 19 guys here and we go again. We're not going to roll up and hide in a corner. We've got to be there for the final run-in.
"We're going to have to stick together and to have the mentality that the club had at the start of the season, when everyone was writing them off.
"Again, we had unbelievable support from the Leeds United fans (at Port Vale) and we need them. We'll need them right until the last game of the season because that's where it's going to go."
Almost 3,500 United supporters made the journey to Port Vale on Saturday, a figure which represented close to half of the total attendance of 7,908, but a goal from Vale striker Luke Rodgers in the last seconds of the match denied Leeds a victory which would have moved the club into sixth position.
Three clubs â€" Swansea City, Doncaster and Carlisle â€" have broken clear at the top of the table, but the nine teams below Carlisle in third sit within six points of each other.
All five of the clubs that Leeds will face over the next three weeks are contained within that group.
United's draw with Port Vale followed on from their 2-1 defeat to Cheltenham Town last Tuesday, but McAllister was able to draw consolation from the performance of Dougie Freedman at Vale Park.
Freedman was making his first start since signing for Leeds on loan from Crystal Palace and he marked his full debut by scoring twice, including a goal in the 86th minute which looked to have earned Leeds a 3-2 victory.
The 33-year-old will be given a leading role in United's first team during the last nine games of the season and he and Jermaine Beckford are expected to be McAllister's chosen strikers in the immediate future after an effective start to their partnership on Saturday.
McAllister said: "Dougie's a player I felt would affect things here, but he's one of 19 and the team have to stick together.
"I know what Elland Road can be like. I need the 19 players who are part of the first team and I need our big support.
"There's a lot of hard work been done and we'll giveit everything."
Freedman found his goals difficult to celebrate on Saturday after Rodgers' strike denied United with the last kick of the ball, restricting Leeds to a draw against a team who are bottom of League One with 24 defeats.
Freedman said: "It doesn't really count for anything.
"I've come here to help Leeds to win promotion so if I score one goal or 10 goals and we don't get promotion then it will be a failure. If it doesn't happen then scoring goals won't mean much to me.
"I wouldn't have come here if I didn't feel Leeds could get promoted. I've seen the good and the bad, but I think we can do it.
"It'll be close but the play-offs are always close. It's about who holds their nerve at the end.
"Teams get themselves up for games against us and the question is can we accept that pressure, take it on board and deal with it?
"We'll see at the end of the season."

Leeds United: automatic promotion still on

LEEDS UNITED coach Neil McDonald today insisted the club have not given up hope of achieving automatic promotion from Coca-Cola League One.
Saturday's 3-3 draw with Port Vale saw the Whites drop down to tenth postition in the table, but things are so tight that United are only two points off the final play-off place, which is occupied by Saturday's visitors to Elland Road, Walsall.
McDonald said: It is a big ask to try and get into second spot know but if we win all our games then who knows?"

Clayton Ince: Let's make it Ell for Leeds

CLAYTON Ince is relishing the prospect of taking arguably League One's biggest scalp: Leeds United.
The teams shared the points earlier this season but this weekend's game promises to be an intriguing affair, not least as Leeds have lost four of their last nine games at Elland Road, winning just twice during that sequence.
Ince is confident Walsall can give as good an account of themselves as they did at Nottingham Forest last Saturday.
"Elland Road will be a nice place to go and play," he said. "Leeds are a big club but we can go there with confidence after the draw at Forest and give them a good fight.
"When we play away we seem to do better and there's not many better places to go in this division than Elland Road.
"We know we have to build on the performance at Forest.
"We expect it to be a tough game but we'll go there fully motivated and looking for another positive result."
Walsall's trip to Leeds will be the first of two Easter fixtures, with Crewe Alexandra due to visit the Bank's Stadium on Monday.
Ince cannot wait to take on his former club.
"They like to play football and we'll have to match them - I can't wait for it," he added.
"It will be a different game to Leeds. Leeds play a little bit more direct while Crewe will try and get the ball down and play.
"I enjoyed my time at Crewe. Like they do now, they played football the right way and I still look out for their results because they are a team close to me.
"It will good to see a few familiar faces on Monday but my main concern is the three points.
"The good thing about the Easter Weekend is that if you get two good results in the three days it can really help cement your place in the table.
"That's what we'll be looking to do and hopefully we can come out of it still in a play-off place."

Casper Sweats On FA Verdict As Dougie Waits In The Wings

Casper Ankergren could miss a significant chunk of the end-of-season run-in after being charged with improper conduct by the FA but Jonathan Douglas is being tipped to make a sooner-than-expected return to action.
The 28-year-old faces a ban amid allegations he threw a missile at Swindon supporters at the end of the 1-0 win at the County Ground earlier this month.
The Dane has until April 1 to respond to the charge.

However, Jonathan Douglas is looking to play a part in the business end of the season.
The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland midfielder has been out of action since sustaining knee ligament damage in the 1-1 draw at Walsall in December but could make an unexpected return in this Saturday's home game with the Saddlers.
However, Gary McAllister may err on the side of caution and wait for the visit of Brighton on March 29 before unleashing Douglas once again.
On Douglas's display for the reserves against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, McAllister said: "It gives me food for thought. He did well and the team played well and there were a few good performances out there."
Douglas played the full 90 against the Owls prompting the Whites' reserve team manager Neil Thompson to tell the club's official website: "He hasn't played for a long time, but he eased his way back in.
"He dominated the midfield and came through with no problems, now it's just a case of seeing how he is."
