Kamp 25/10:
Milton Keynes Dons - Cheltenham 3-1 (1-1)

DONS TO CONTEST GUERET DISMISSAL

MK Dons assistant manager Eddie Newton praised his team's focus in the 3-1 win over Cheltenham and could challenge Willy Gueret's red card.
Ali Gerba's double and a Sam Baldock penalty secured the points for Dons in an action-packed game that saw Gueret sent off for the home side and Lloyd Owusu dismissed for the visitors.
Newton said: "At first I thought it was a definite sending off, but I have been speaking to Willy down in the tunnel and he's adamant it's not a sending off.
"We have presented the video evidence to the referee and we will see from there. I said to myself, though, that looks like a sending off.
"The referee made it an eventful afternoon, but what we were happy with is that the players kept their concentration.
"They didn't lose their focus and that was the most pleasing thing. We were worthy winners in the end. Even when we went down to ten men we stuck to our task."

Cheltenham facing striking crisis
Cheltenham Town boss Martin Allen could try to make a loan signing after being reduced to one fit striker for Saturday's home game against Leeds.
Loanee Stuart Fleetwood has returned to Charlton, Lloyd Owusu is suspended and Ashley Vincent has a wrist injury.
Damien Spencer has not played since a summer knee operation, leaving Paul Connor as Allen's only forward option.
Meanwhile, Allen has extended the loans of midfielders Josh Payne from West Ham and Lewis Montrose from Wigan Athletic.

Russell doubtful for Leeds test

CHELTENHAM TOWN midfielder Alex Russell is nearing full fitness after injuring medial ankle ligaments.
But the Robins' leading assist-maker is unlikely to be risked against Leeds United on Saturday.
He picked up the injury in the 4-3 win over Colchester United and has missed the last three matches.
Defender Darren Kenton has an ankle knock, but is expected to be fit to face his former club.
Last season's Supporters' Player of the Year, David Bird, could return to full training next week after recovering from a broken toe.
Central defender Shane Duff is also poised to be given the go-ahead to join him after a visit to a specialist in a week's time.
Duff has not played since the 2-1 home win over Bristol Rovers on September 16.
Meanwhile, Cheltenham have confirmed their FA Cup first round home tie against League One rivals Oldham Athletic will be played on Saturday, November 8 (3pm).
The tie is an all-pay fixture and tickets will go on sale this Saturday to season ticket holders only.
General sale will then begin on November 3 and seat season ticket holders will have their tickets reserved until 6pm on November 6.

Cheltenham Trivia

Robins struggling for players

Cheltenham boss Martin Allen is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts to bring in reinforcements for Saturday's clash with Leeds United.
The Robins have a long list of players who are unavailable and recent loan signing from Leeds, midfielder Ian Westlake, is not permitted to play against his parent club.
Striker Lloyd Owusu serves a one-match suspension and Stuart Fleetwood has returned to Charlton Athletic after a one-month loan.
Ashley Vincent is out with a wrist injury leaving Allen with only one fit striker in Paul Connor.
Wesolowski, Shane Duff, Damian Spencer, John Finnigan and David Bird are all ruled out, with Alex Russell an injury doubt.
Allen said: "We have injuries and suspensions, but we will put out a team that will be more competitive than last weekend and the players have been working hard.
"I am working on bringing in players and I am looking, but decent players cost decent money and are wanted by other clubs."

Cheltenham  vs. Leeds
Whaddon Road
1st November
15:00

The Robins look to be up against it this weekend, with up to eight first team players ruled out for the home clash with Leeds.
United's away form has been inconsistent this season, but they still find themselves sitting in 3rd. This despite not winning away from Elland Road since the 20th of September.
Along with the fact that the Robins were the only team to complete the double over Leeds last season, there maybe a glimmer of hope come Saturday afternoon.

Vital Quotes:
Martin Allen: 'We have injuries and suspensions, but we will put out a team that will be more competitive than last weekend. Leeds have a great tradition and a great history.
It wasn't long ago that they were in the Champions League semi-finals. But they are in this division now and we can't be awestruck'
Leeds captain, Frazer Richardson: 'Football comes down to results and the thing for us at the moment is that we haven't turned any of the last three performances into wins. We've been exceptional at home and the time's come for us to do that on the road. Saturday's a crucial game which I feel we need to win'

Cheltenham Team News:
Shane Duff, Damien Spencer, John Finnigan and Dave Bird are ruled out. Whilst Alex Russell is struggling with an ankle injury.
Lloyd Owusu is suspended following his red card at MK Dons last weekend and Ian Westlake is ineligible under the terms of his loan deal from Leeds.

Player to watch: Josh Payne
Extended his loan spell this week and will be looking to continue the form which has earned him rave reviews at Whaddon Road.

Leeds Team News:
Andrew Hughes is a doubt having missed the last two games with a groin strain. Paul Huntington and Alan Sheehan are both ruled out with groin and hamstring injuries respectively. Whilst Casper Ankergren will be hoping to keep his place in goal at the expense of David Lucas.
Player to watch: Fabian Delph
The teenager has impressed at the heart of midfield in recent times and netted a brace against Walsall last weekend.

Match Facts & Stats
The two teams have only ever played each other twice, with Cheltenham victorious in both games.
Last season's 1-0 home victory was fortunate, with former striker Steve Gillespie netting the winner. The 2-1 win at Elland Road was much more deserved, as Dave Bird and Alex Russell struck before Anthony Elding headed in a late consolation.

ROBINS CHIEF EYES LOAN SWOOP

Boss Martin Allen has revealed he is looking to bolster his threadbare Cheltenham Town squad ahead of this weekend's clash against Leeds.
The Robins are missing a total of 10 players for the encounter at Whaddon Road and Allen is desperately searching the loan market in a bid to boost his ranks.
"I am working on bringing in players and I am looking, but decent players cost decent money and are wanted by other clubs so it's not always easy. But I will keep trying," he said in the Gloucestershire Echo.
"We have injuries and suspensions, but we will put out a team that will be more competitive than last weekend and the players have been working hard."

Focus on Cheltenham Town

YEP chief football writer Phil Hay takes a close look at Leeds United's opponents tomorrow - Cheltenham Town.

The Gaffer
Martin Allen. Cheltenham Town were one of the first English clubs to dispense with their manager this season and Keith Downing's departure by mutual consent came midway through September with Cheltenham bottom of League One.
In Allen the club found an outstanding replacement, recruiting a manager who enjoyed healthy periods in charge of Brentford and MK Dons before receiving his big break at Leicester City in May 2007.
Allen left Leicester three months later after his relationship with chairman Milan Mandaric deteriorated beyond the point of repair, and he was without a job in football for more than a year until Cheltenham moved to employ him.

The Danger
Allen rated Ian Westlake as Cheltenham's best player against MK Dons last weekend but the midfielder is not allowed to feature against his parent club tomorrow, and the Robins' boss is working with minimal resources at Whaddon Road.
Cheltenham did possess an experienced strikeforce in Lloyd Owusu and Barry Hayles, their leading scorers this season with three goals apiece, but Hayles has completed a loan spell from Leicester and Owusu is suspended after his red card at MK Dons.
With another loanee, Stuart Fleetwood, now back with Charlton, Allen's options are desperately sparse, but one player to watch is Scott Murray, the on-loan Bristol City winger who cost Reading £650,000 in 2003 and has scored twice this term.

The Form
Cheltenham are still waiting for their first league victory away from home this season and they have taken one point from a possible 21 on the road.
Their defence has leaked 22 goals during those seven matches – by far the highest tally of away goals conceded in League One – and Allen's side are fighting to end a run of three successive defeats.
They have had their moments this term and beat Colchester United 4-3 at Whaddon Road, where a total of three teams have lost to Cheltenham, but one win from eight games is not the sort of form that will save the club from a relegation fight.
By far Town's best result was their 1-0 win at Southend United in round one of the Carling Cup.

The Odds
Leeds are having a hard time of things away from home but William Hill make them 4-5 favourites regardless tomorrow. Cheltenham start at 13-5, slightly longer than the draw at 12-5.

The Whistler
Fred Graham. The 44-year-old from Essex is not a particularly high-profile official and he did not make his bow in the Football League until 2004.
Last season, he refereed more than 20 Football League matches in a single term for the first time, producing a meagre total of 42 cautions and two red cards in 31 games.
Graham is averaging fewer than three yellow cards a game this term.

Here we go with Leeds United
We're gonna give the boys a hand
Stand up and sing for Leeds United
They are the greatest in the land
Every day, we're all gonna say
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Everywhere, we're gonna be there
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Marching on together
We're gonna see you win (na na na na na na)
We are so proud
We shout it out loud
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
We've been through it all together
And we've had our ups and downs (ups and downs!)
We're gonna stay with you forever
At least until the world stops turning 'round
Every day, we're all gonna say
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Everywhere, we're gonna be there
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Marching on together
We're gonna see you win (na na na na na na)
We are so proud
We shout it out loud
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!

Connor relishes striking responsibility

PAUL CONNOR is relishing the responsibility of being Cheltenham Town's only available centre forward against Leeds United today.
The 29-year-old featured in both of the Robins' sensational victories over Leeds last season, starting up front at Whaddon Road as Cheltenham won 1-0.
He then went on as a late substitute in the 2-1 victory at Elland Road on March 11 – the club's last away league win.
Connor has been used in a number of different positions since new boss Martin Allen took over in September.
He was placed in the centre of midfield at Millwall and has also been asked to operate in wide areas, but he was guaranteed to start back in his favoured striking role against Leeds.
wrist injury to Ashley Vincent, coupled with Stuart Fleetwood's return to Charlton and Lloyd Owusu's suspension means that Connor is the sole remaining striker available in the first team squad.
"I have enjoyed playing under Martin Allen, learning to play in different positions and I don't mind filling in anywhere as long as I am helping the team," Connor said. "But there are not many forwards available to face Leeds so I could have an important role.
"We know Leeds will have a lot of the ball and they have quality players, so we will have to work hard and if we can nick a goal it'd settle us down."
Connor netted his first goal of the campaign in the 2-1 defeat by Scunthorpe United two weeks ago after scoring five times last term.
He could be partnered by winger Scott Murray at Whaddon Road this afternoon, although central defender Gavin Caines has also performed in attack for Cheltenham in the past.
Connor described last season's heroics against Leeds as being instrumental in the club's successful battle against the drop.
The former Middlesbrough trainee is now hoping for a repeat and after three defeats in succession, he knows a morale-boosting win over the former Champions League semi-finalists could help transform the Robins' fortunes once again.
"Last year beating Leeds gave us the kick we needed to go on and survive," he said.
"We can go on with confidence if we get another result against them.
"After last season, they will know Whaddon Road is not an easy place to come and if the fans can get behind us it'd be great."

Ingen forsvarsspillere? Skjønner ingenting jeg. Hva har egentlig skjedd med Paul Huntington? Er Rui ute i kulda også? Heller ingen White på benken. Men 3 midtbanespillere har vi plass til. Merkelige valg av Macca.
