.... Saturday's fixture is Leeds' last before Christmas, leading into an equally important meeting with Leicester City, and United have confirmed that a crowd of over 30,000 will be at Elland Road for their Boxing Day clash with Nigel Pearson's side.
Leeds are hoping to eclipse their biggest home attendance of the season â€" 32,028 for Huddersfield Town's visit last month â€" with the East Midlands club selling out their allocation of 2,924.

Tickets selling fast for Leeds United's Boxing Day clash

LEEDS UNITED have revealed they have sold more than 30,000 tickets for the Boxing Day encounter with League One leaders Leicester City at Elland Road.
The division's two big guns meet for the first time in English football's third tier with Nigel Pearson's City top of the pile and Leeds out of form in eighth.
But that has not stopped a stampede to the ticket office.
Club chairman Ken Bates said: "We'll have well over 30,000 for the game against Leicester and that is encouraging.
"And the family packages in the hospitality areas are going well, which is nice, because there will be a real family atmosphere at the game"
Of the club's form, four straight defeats in all competitions, Bates said: "Obviously we are in a bad run at the moment and we must stop it as soon as we can.
"I think the players are getting a bit nervy, and they don't need to because they are good players.
"All they need is some self confidence and then they can take on other teams and sort them out, and hopefully that is what they will do."

Pearson delighted by Foxes form
Nigel Pearson hailed Leicester's display after the Foxes beat Peterborough 4-0 to guarantee they will celebrate Christmas top of League One.
The Foxes were in fine form on Saturday as they saw off Posh at the Walkers Stadium - a result all the more impressive considering their visitors went into the game unbeaten in 16 league games.
"This was a great result and our performance was very good," said boss Pearson, who saw Matt Fryatt, Andy King and Steve Howard add to Craig Morgan's early own goal.
"It's another important step in the right direction and achieving our ultimate goal which is to get out of this division."
He added: "This game represented a tough test because Peterborough were on a good run of results which meant we had to be at our best.
"In the end it was a comprehensive win but now that is gone and we have to begin to prepare for a very difficult away trip to Leeds on Boxing Day. We are in a good position now but I still think there is much more to come from us."

Foxes ease past Posh to stay top
Leicester guaranteed they will celebrate Christmas top of League One by recording an emphatic 4-0 home victory over Peterborough on Saturday.
Posh began confident of equalling a club record of 17 unbeaten league games but it was City who earned the plaudits with a sixth straight win.
Leicester took a fifth-minute lead when Matty Fryatt chased a seemingly lost cause down the right before crossing into the penalty area where Peterborough defender Craig Morgan sliced the ball into his own net from six yards out.
Peterborough came close to an equaliser on the half-hour mark when Aaron McLean struck a post from eight yards, and Craig Mackail-Smith crashed the rebound against the bar before McLean blazed the loose ball into the crowd.
Fryatt made it two for City after 38 minutes when he latched on to a Jack Hobbs long-ball and rounded Joe Lewis before guiding home an angled shot from 12 yards.
Leicester then added a third after 70 minutes when Matt Oakley played in a free-kick to the near-post with Andy King ghosting in beyond a static defence to score with a firm header. And Steve Howard sealed the victory after 90 minutes with a well-struck drive from 22 yards.

Mest oppløftende med det resultatet er at Peterborough ikke akkurat overbeviser i forhold til å slå ut WBA av cupen borte... og WBA vant også i helgen.

Fryatt set to sign in time for Leeds

The Christmas present Leicester City fans want is set to be unwrapped before the Boxing Day clash at Leeds - Matty Fryatt's new contract at the Walkers Stadium.
City boss Nigel Pearson is confident that agreement can be reached in time for a fixture which was always looming large in the campaign.
But the League One encounter has now been given added spice by the prospect of a new Leeds boss in place after the dismissal over the weekend of former City favourite Gary McAllister.
He was sacked following Leeds' 3-1 reverse at MK Dons, which was the club's fourth successive league defeat.
The 3,000-strong travelling Blue Army do not care what is happening at Elland Road and would love to see the Fryatt issue settled going into the game.
Despite newspaper speculation, there has never been any suggestion that a new contract will not be agreed, as both Pearson, below, and City chairman Milan Mandaric have previously said.
And with Fryatt notching his 23rd goal of the season in the 4-0 win against Peterborough on Saturday, his value was further underlined.
Pearson feels Fryatt might be off on another scoring run, having missed out on the fabled “hat-trick of hat-tricks” with a blank at Carlisle.
After Fryatt scored the important second goal against Posh, Pearson said: “Off he goes again, scoring another good goal. He is playing very well, he is enjoying himself and that is good for us.
“My thoughts are the same as last week. There is a deal on the horizon and that is good news for us.
“He is a player on form, a player who enjoys his football and he looks like he is going to score every time he plays, which is good for him and good for us. It is all about confidence and being in the right frame of mind, knowing your job and knowing how to do it, and fortunately for us we are pretty well up on that.”
Even if City suffer the backlash of a new manager in charge for the first time, they cannot be knocked off top spot as they have a four-point cushion over second-placed MK Dons.
But defeat is not in the minds of the City players because, after such a convincing display against Posh, their confidence must be at a real high.
Pearson said: “It is a good lead to have before Christmas, but it is all about our next game.
“We have worked hard to be where we are now, but it is where we are in May that matters

Spotlight on Leicester

Matty Fryatt

YEP chief football writer Phil Hay looks at Leeds United's opponents on Boxing Day - Leicester City

The Gaffer
Nigel Pearson. Leicester City's choice for their new manager in June was not an obvious one, but Pearson's appointment has been an outstanding success thus far.
Leicester are one victory away from the 50-point mark after 21 League One matches and it seems inconceivable that the club will not be promoted automatically this season. Pearson â€" a former Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough captain â€" has years of coaching behind him, but this is only his third stint as a manager, following on from spells in charge of Southampton and Carlisle United.
He secured Southampton's Championship status last season but was then allowed to leave St Mary's, freeing him to join Leicester as their replacement for Ian Holloway.

The Danger
Matty Fryatt. Jermaine Beckford's strike-rate has been impressive this season but Fryatt's form in front of goal is incredible.
His finish in Leicester's 4-0 rout of Peterborough United on Saturday was his 23rd of the campaign, produced from only 27 appearances.
Fryatt showed similar form during three-and-a-half years at Walsall, where he claimed 27 league goals from 49 starts, but he has taken time to find his feet at Leicester.
His first full season with the club saw him score four times and he found the net on just three occasions as City slipped out of the Championship last term.

The Form
City's form is a complete contrast to that of Leeds United. While United have stumbled through four successive league defeats, Leicester have produced five straight wins and pulled 15 points clear of the Elland Road club.
Saturday's crushing victory over Peterborough was a real show of strength and, in all, the Foxes are unbeaten in nine matches.
Only MK Dons have scored more goals than Pearson's side, and City's defence has been excellent, conceding just 17 times in league fixtures.
Such has been Leicester's consistency that they hold a four-point cushion over third place and a 10-point advantage over seventh.

The Odds
Leicester's form is not enough to secure them favourtism with William Hill, who go 7-5 about a home win and 8-5 about an away win.
The draw stands at 21-10.

The Whistler
Mark Halsey. The Select Group official was chosen to referee last month's game between Leeds and Huddersfield Town at Elland Road, and his performance did not go down particularly well with United's supporters.
In 17 outings this season he has shown 25 yellow cards and one red.

Eg trur ikkje på miraklar, sjølv ikkje i slike religiøse tider. Leicester-kampen blir ei pinsle og eg fryktar for vårt sjette strake tap.

Kva talar for tap?
1. Vi har tapt fem kampar på rad.

Kva talar for siger?
1. Spelarane og Grayson vil vise verda at vi er stolte av klubben.
2. Massiv stønad frå supportarane.
3. Jula er høgtid for dei store miraklar.
