LUFC Warnock desperate for Leeds takeover
Leeds United boss Neil Warnock is desperate for the takeover of the club to be concluded, as he is desperate to bring in new players to make the difference to the squad.
Leeds have slipped to fifteenth in the championship table in recent weeks having picked up just three points from a possible fifteen.
Warnock admits he does not want to be too far adrift of the teams fighting for promotion and he believes the addition of two or three really good signings would give Leeds a realistic chance of promotion in the second half of the season. "We don`t want to get too far adrift. I want us to be around it because I do think two or three signings would make the difference," Warnock told Yorkshire Radio.
The on-going saga of the takeover continues to drag on, with GFH Capital still in talks with Leeds chairman Ken Bates about the proposed deal.
Warnock admits if the deal does not go through, the likelihood of him bringing in the quality he requires to add to his squad is unlikely.
The Leeds boss wants the deal done as soon as possible to see Leeds push on.
Warnock continued "I have got to be optimistic, even though it is a long drawn out saga. I do think two or three really good signings would give us a real good chance in the second half of the season.
"Things will only change if the takeover goes through.
"I am looking at players to bring in, as and when, or if it happens.
"I want to be pushing for promotion and I hope that the chairman concludes the deal sooner rather than later so that we can move on and bring in the two or three targets and push on."
Warnock was hoping to bring in a loan signing ahead of the game with Watford today as he is desperate to add to his attacking options.
Stoke City striker Cameron Jerome and Sunderland striker Fraizer Campbell have both been linked with a move to Elland Road.
Warnock has also been linked with a move for QPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin in recent weeks.
The loan transfer window closes on November 22nd, with no club able to add to their squad until the January transfer window opens on January 1st.
