St Johnstone sweat on fitness of Morris for start of campaign
St Johnstone are waiting on the fitness of Jody Morris in the hope that he will have recovered from a hernia operation in time for the new season. According to the club's official website, the former Chelsea and Leeds midfielder has been playing with the injury towards the end of last season, before deciding an operation would be needed if the 31 year old was to make the big kick-off.
"With the operation successfully completed, hopes are now high that a fully-fit Jody will be ready to take his place when the SPL gets under way, although he will likely be unable to play a full part when pre-season training gets under way with a week-long training camp in Warwick," the website stated.

SKY BLUES SWOOP FOR O'HALLORAN
Coventry have snapped up Aston Villa left-back Stephen O'Halloran on a free transfer.
Sky Blues boss Aidy Boothroyd has agreed a one-year-deal with the 22-year-old Irishman, who is expected to be formally unveiled on Thursday.
The Cork-born player's progress at Villa Park was hampered by a cruciate knee ligament injury but the defender, who has had loan spells at Wycombe and Swansea, has passed a medical on Monday and agreed terms.
Boothroyd confirmed: "Stephen is a young attacking full-back. He is quick and strong and a good defender with a lot of potential." (PA)

Disgraced striker King not on Watford's radar
Coventry boss Aidy Boothroyd has distanced himself from a move for shamed striker Marlon King.
King, currently serving an 18-month prison sentence for assaulting a woman, made his name in Boothroyd's Watford team before moving to Wigan in a £5 million move in 2008.
He will be available on a free transfer when he is expected to be released this summer, the Latics having cancelled his contract when he was jailed.
Boothroyd told the Coventry Telegraph: "Marlon King is a player that lost his way and then came to me at Watford and got himself going again and became a fantastic asset to Watford.
"He went on to bigger and better things at Wigan and lost his way again."
