Den amerikanske presidenten John Quincy Adams bodde her 1815-1817.

Rat Scabies, trommis i The Damned
Stan Bowles

Terry Butcher, Martin Allen, Steve Coppell, Steve Perryman, Frank McLintock

Hermann Hreidarsson, Micky Adams,  Marcus Bent, Steve Claridge,  Paul Davis, Ron Greenwood, Chris Kamara, Harry Redknapp, Graham Rix, Kenny Sansom.

Tranmere vs. Brentford 1-0 (0-0)

ROVERS SECURE NARROW HOME VICTORY
Tranmere boosted their hopes of climbing out of the drop zone with a fourth home victory of the season, beating Brentford 1-0 at Prenton Park.
There was never much between the sides at Prenton Park but certainly the Merseysiders created the better opportunities and deserved the points.
Craig Curran fired wide early on for Rovers before the same player then brought an excellent save from Wojciech Szczesny who later did well to smother out a close-range effort by Terry Gornell.
Leon Legge missed the target with a third minute header for Brentford and was only inches wide with a 25-yard free-kick approaching the half-hour.
Both sides produced some lively approach work without the end product before Tranmere broke the deadlock on the hour from a rehearsed move. A clever John Welsh free-kick split the Bees rearguard and Curran raced clear to put an angled shot past the keeper.
Gornell missed a great chance to double the margin six minutes later when he fired across the face of the goal from close range. (PA)

SNOD SITS OUT SATURDAY

Robert Snodgrass will miss Leeds United's trip to Brentford on Saturday. The Scot picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during the second half of Tuesday's Elland Road clash with Kettering and faces an immediate one-game ban.

United manager Simon Grayson does have an additional options for the trip to Griffing Park, though, with loan men Sam Vokes, Max Gradel, and Hogan Ephraim all available for selection after missing the FA Cup tie.

Leeds players will not lose focus - Simon Grayson

Grayson has led Leeds into the third round after a two-year absence
Leeds United boss Simon Grayson wants his side to focus on their main aim of promotion after booking an FA Cup third round glamour tie at Manchester United.

United beat Kettering 5-1 on Tuesday to secure a trip to Old Trafford.

Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds: "Players have to got to be focused on their league performance or they won't get to Old Trafford.

"Our sole aim now is our focus on the game on Saturday at Brentford and that's all we've got to do."

But he added: "It's a game that everyone is looking forward to - it's a massive achievement."

The League One leaders are looking for success on three fronts this season, with a Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern area semi-final against Accrington Stanley next week.

Promotion to the Championship, though, remains Grayson's main priority as Leeds look to maintain or better their four-point lead at the top of the table at the weekend.

My sole aim now is trying to put out a team and get a positive result at the weekend against Brentford

Simon Grayson
Leeds have not played Manchester United for almost six years and last enjoyed victory against the Premier League champions in 2002.

Their last victory at Old Trafford was in 1981 and Grayson is hoping his players can go there again and upset the odds.

"It's where we used to play a few years ago but it'll be the first time for myself and a lot of the players and we'll thoroughly enjoy the day when it comes around," he said.

"We'll be going there to give our best account and hopefully we'll do credit to the football club and try to give them a decent game.

"We know it's going to be tough but we'll enjoy it and see where it takes us, but again my sole aim now is trying to put out a team and get a positive result at the weekend against Brentford."

"We didn't take our chances and they got back into it, but overall we probably deserved to win by that kind of scoreline," said the Leeds manager, Simon Grayson. "Manchester United will be a game everybody is looking forward to, but we have a lot of matches before then and if they don't perform in them they might find they're not in the team."

Vi må vistnok over 50 år tilbake i tid for å finne siste møte.

Bees skipper gears up for Leeds clash
KEVIN O’Connor admits his toughest test of the season awaits if picked to face Leeds United on Saturday.
The Brentford stalwart is likely to lead the midfield as his side try and stop a 15th win of the season for the League One leaders.
And while the Bees’ back four will have their hands full trying to stop 13-goal Jermaine Beckford, O’Connor knows it will be his job to stop the supply line.
He said: "I’ve watched Jermaine on TV a few times and he’s a great player, but the key is stopping the players who supply him chances.
"We’ll have our work cut out in the midfield as a result. Our jobs will be to take the pressure off the back four.
"We’re actually looking far more solid as a team in recent weeks. All right, it was a sloppy goal we conceded at Tranmere, but if not for that it would have been three clean sheets in a row."
The irony for O’Connor is, according to Brentford folklore, Leeds were interested in signing him three years ago, with Beckford coming the other way to Griffin Park.
At the time, Ealing-born Beckford was struggling to break into the first team at Elland Road, having been plucked from non-league Wealdstone.
It wasn’t until the following season that his Leeds career took off, scoring 54 goals in two seasons before the current campaign.
O’Connor joked: "I bet Brentford are gutted with how it worked out!
"But seriously, I heard the rumours about Leeds being interested and have seen people write about it since, but it never go to the stage of an official approach or anything."
So how will Brentford approach the game and give themselves a fighting chance against a side who were Champions League semi-finalists just eight years ago?
O’Connor said: "We’re at home, where our form has been good, and we just have to go out and be positive – but not stupidly positive.
"We just need to play to our strengths, getting the ball forward quickly and putting the pressure on as high up the pitch as possible.
"We just have to approach the game the same way we did the Colchester one."
Meanwhile, O’Connor admits Brentford’s recent glut of loan signings have not only lifted the squad, but left them on their toes too.
He added: "The keeper (Wojiech Szczensy) has come in and been different class, while Pim (Balkestein) is big and strong at the back, and John Bostock has some real magic in his boots.
"They have given the squad a real boost, and it also means everyone has to give 100 per cent as we know nobody’s place is safe."

Back to League One and Brentford up nextNot since the early 1960’s have Leeds United and Brentford competed in a competitive match, so I thought there may be some point to doing a match preview for this one. That day saw Leeds progress to the next round of the League Cup with a 4-1 victory at Elland Road.
The last time these two clubs played in the same division however was 1954, which is more an indication of Leeds United’s recent demise, as opposed to Brentford’s success. Indeed, League One is common ground for Brentford. It’s been more than 50 years since Brentford competed in the top flight of English football and although they made a quick visit to the Championship in the early 90’s, much of their existance has been spent yoyoing between the third and forth tier.

Latest Whites team news

Robert Snodgrass will step out of Leeds United's starting line-up at Brentford tomorrow after incurring a one-match suspension.
Snodgrass, received his fifth booking of the season during United's FA Cup win over Kettering Town on Tuesday, and his automatic ban will be served immediately this weekend.
The winger successfully negotiated 12 consecutive matches with four bookings to his name but a foul on Kettering's Richie Partridge took Snodgrass over a threshold he had been on the verge of since the end of September.
Grayson said: "He'll be suspended for the weekend so someone else will come in and get an opportunity.
"We're going to have a lot of tired minds and bodies after Kettering but the loan players are coming back and we'll put out a team that we think can win again."
Four of United's loanees – Sam Vokes, Max Gradel, Hogan Ephraim and David Martin – were ineligible for Tuesday's cup tie, but all are available for the visit to Griffin Park and were expected to make the trip south today.
Along with an enforced change to United's midfield, Grayson may also consider altering his defence for the trip to London.
Aidan White and Andrew Hughes were named as his full-backs on Tuesday evening, but White left the field with cramp and Hughes fought his way through 105 minutes after a fortnight on the sidelines with a groin strain.
Centre-backs Patrick Kisnorbo and Richard Naylor are edging closer to recalls after knee and calf injuries respectively, but Shane Higgs and Bradley Johnson are major doubts for the game. (YEP)
