Leeds United intend to take strong disciplinary action against their captain, Ross McCormack, after he failed to show up for the club’s pre-season trip to Italy.
McCormack, who has asked for a transfer, was booked on the flight but did not turn up and the Championship club are still waiting for an explanation. They are regarding it as a breach of his contract and intend to fine him up to a month’s wages.
Fulham have already failed with a £5m bid for the striker with Leeds wanting double that amount. An improved offer is expected and McCormack has made it clear to the Leeds owner, Massimo Cellino, that he does not want to stay at Elland Road.
