Leeds United have been handed a significant boost by Saint-Etienne leaving the door open for Max Gradel to return to Leeds United.
Christophe Galtier [Saint-Etienne manager] was asked by French newspaper The Daily Progress on his stance regarding the Ivorian winger and reiterated that he was keen to keep him, but would be reluctant to turn down a good offer.
'Max Gradel has requested that he wants extra game time for the World Cup. He is a player that I account and I don't want to leave.
He went onto comment:
'After proposals and if everyone is a winner, we must sit around a table. I know with Max, the discussions will be healthy. Should he go, he would not be replaced because at that time, it would open the door to other players at the club.'
The ball seems to be very much in Leeds United's court regarding the player, and if they're willing to put up enough of a fight they could land potentially the signing of the window
