Englands Charlie Cresswell is our Golden Ball winner for the 2025 #U21EURO.

Cresswell made at least eight more clearances (42) than any other player at the tournament. He also won the most Aerial Duels. Incredibly, he won as many Aerial Duels as the rest of the England squad combined.

In a summer where the quality of defending has been relatively poor at UEFA Youth Tournaments, Cresswell has just catalogued a course for up-and-coming centre-backs to study. He was England's most consistent performer throughout the entire tournament and defended his box and read the game with the nous of a seasoned veteran.

🚨 EXCL: Borussia Dortmund approach Toulouse over deal to sign Charlie Cresswell. Opening bid for 23yo centre-back rejected as falls below #Toulouse valuation. Talks on England U21 int'l continue & #BVB also maintain Aaron Anselmino pursuit @TheAthleticFC

Let's say he goes for around €30m. That would indicate Toulouse make a profit of about €25m give or take. 15% of that (I think it was?) now goes to Leeds, coming to about €3.75m, or roughly £3.25m

As far as I understand, that 3.25 goes all on this year's income, meaning we can directly offset 3.25m of expenditures. Assuming a 4 year contract of linear amortisation, that would allow us to sign a player for 3.25*4=13m without affecting PSR

Probably lots of nuance to it, but I think that's roughly how it works

...

Brilliant post. 👍 you would have to take wages into account although these could be offset by a player sale, but for me the main nuance is the fact that we only have 6 months of this financial year and PSR left so for PSR purposes the Cresswell money only has to cover 6 months of the new signings transfer fee, so I recon we could sign someone on your example for £26m. Have I got the maths right ?
Tell me - I've got to know
Tell me - Tell me before I go
Does that flame still burn, does that fire still glow
Or has it died out and melted like the snow
Tell me  Tell me
