7 - Daniel Farke has now won seven of his 25 Premier League games in charge of Leeds United (D8 L10), one more than in won in 49 matches as Norwich City manager in the competition (W6 D8 L35). Settled.

On the owners and stability when joining Leeds
"I was very aware that the season before I signed the contract there were four or five people in my role, but I have to say our conversations before I signed were quite clear. When I pick a club I am always out for doing something special. I knew there was not much consistency here apart from Marcelo, I was hoping for something special and I had really good feeling with the owners. It was never the plan for me to work again on Championship level, it was clear for me the next job would be Bundesliga or Premier League level, but I knew how special Leeds United was and the potential, out of respect I picked up my mobile, right now I am here and the rest is history."

On the stability at Leeds and relationship with owners
"Really good, really trustful and honest relationship. It's important at such a passionate club that we are on the same page. When that has been he the case, this club has had its most successful times. Changing the manager four or times is never helpful. I don't comment on other clubs but if you are committed then you stick together. You can't be too addicted to results, you can hit six times the crossbar and a deflected ball goes in and you lose 0-1 but you have not done too much wrong. We stick together and this is the relationship that we have. But each and every club has to decide, I am just fully focused on our own business because that is enough to do."

Tjaaaa.

The summer of 2025 was a pivotal point in Dominic Calvert-Lewin's career. After deciding to leave Everton, he entertained interest from abroad but ultimately decided he had unfinished business closer to home.

Leeds made contact a few weeks before the start of the season. Calvert-Lewin was immediately interested, and a phone call with their head coach Daniel Farke persuaded him his future lay at Elland Road.

"He called me two days before I signed," says Calvert-Lewin. "We spoke for quite a while about Leeds as a club, what it means to play there and the environment around it. He spoke about watching my progression over the last few years and said he felt I still had more to give in the game.

"But he also spoke to me on a human level. He wasn't just speaking to the footballer - he was speaking to Dominic the person. That's the type of manager I like to work with. I just had that feeling in my stomach that this was the guy I wanted to go and play for."

Daniel Farke became only the fourth Leeds manager to reach the FA Cup semi-finals after Don Revie, Jimmy Armfield and Billy Bremner. 👏 #LUFC

@LUFCDATA

Hadde ikke sett for meg semi i cupen da overgangsvinduet stengte i høst.

Leeds' rise under Daniel Farke should not be reduced to him simply playing more direct to adapt to the demands of the Premier League.

That may be true, but it is reductionist.

Tactically, Leeds are one of the best teams in the Premier League.

Farke's evolution has been TOP! 👏

I feel like I am wanking Farke off every week at the moment but I don't care, he is doing a cracking job, the stability, the culture, the results, the coaching, the records he is breaking, his calmness, he really has taken the club to heart, he loves it here and deserves all the flowers he is getting #lufc

Perhaps more should be made of the reverence he has within the game, with numerous managers - including Pep Guardiola - speaking highly of him and holding good relationship. Yet still, he needed to change the outside perception.

He has done just that over the past five months. When crunch time has come, he has not been a flag in the wind, to use his phrase. He has been decisive when required and, more importantly, successful. It's been quite the turnaround.

Ampadu hadde gitt massivt utslag her. Men gud forby!

...her blir det nok debatt fremover.

I am rather confused. Wtf is going on

Welcome, Marco Silva.

There seemed to be a bit of overkill in the way he praised the supporters for making him part of the LUFC family. Everything just felt a bit out of place. Maybe nothing and him just reminding the board he's ambitious and doesn't want to rest on his laurels. Weird press conference though. Only Leeds...
...
He's spot on. He's saying pretty much what Bielsa said to Radz after our first season. To progress you need to spend and turn over the squad, it has a limited shelf life, much like some coaches. They didn't back Bielsa, he stayed loyal and we saw the result. Farke is saying a similar thing: Build at your strongest and show some the ambition to progress.

Fair play to him. The main difference being that he might walk if he's not backed, whereas Bielsa stayed, to his credit.

Daniel Farke spoke in great detail about Leeds United's future at Friday's pre-Brighton press conference.
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke says the job he set out to do in 2023 is done so he and the club need to agree new goals this summer.

Safety was secured on Sunday thanks to West Ham's loss to Arsenal and Leeds celebrated with a come-from-behind draw at relegation-threatened Spurs on Monday night.

Ahead of the penultimate Premier League fixture of the season at home to Brighton Farke was asked about next season and a number of player contract situations. His response was that the first priority had to be talks with the board to decide on their next steps. Farke feels he and the club have come to the end of their first mission and need to agree on the way forward, once the final two games are complete and he has returned home to Germany for a short break.

"When I signed the contract here three years ago we spoke about the goals, what we want to achieve and I have to say my mission is fulfilled, and my job is done here, and there's nothing to add anymore," he said. "So all the boxes that we wanted to tick are ticked."

Those boxes included promotion to the top flight and staying up at the first attempt, bucking the recent trend of newly-promoted sides suffering an immediate return to the Championship. In Farke's eyes the only option now is to build on what they have achieved, in order to avoid the fate that befell Leeds when they failed to significantly back Marcelo Bielsa in the summer of 2021.

"It's important for the club that we sit together and sit in a trustful atmosphere to speak about new goals," he said. "This period is done. We have to speak about new goals, the way we want to achieve it, the processes and then before I speak about the future, the club has to decide where we want to be, what are the new goals. This is what we'll do right now internally. Then we'll see what the outcome is.

"In terms of going forward, I'm ambitious, I want to something to play for, and I'm not the right choice if it's about like maintaining somehow a status quo. If you want someone who just does something more of the same, then it's definitely not me. Everyone knows about how amazing this fan base is, how huge this club is, how much potential there is. That's a part of the truth, but the second part of the truth is also that we as a club had exactly one good season in the last 25 years in the Premier League, the first season after Marcelo's promotion, and we missed [the chance] to build on it. Right now we have played just a second good season on this level, and for me it's important that we don't repeat the same mistake, we have to develop, and we have to evolve. If you want to be good enough on this level, you have to evolve."

Farke, who has a year left on his contract, clarified that he knows the ownership are ambitions and he has 'not one per cent doubt' in his head going into the summer talks. But they must align on strategy, including what they plan to do in the summer window in terms of keeping and adding to the squad.

"I'm full of belief and energy but we have to speak about the next steps, the next goals," he said. "The second season is difficult. It's important to have a clear vision. We have to do the same again and work towards it step by step. If you just try to survive then what happens last time happens.

"It's important that we're on the same page, because I don't decide for the club, I don't own the club and don't run the whole club, I run the sport. We have to speak about what we will do, what are the new goals, can we keep our best players, can we improve the squad, can we bring players in who make us better, we have to speak about this."

And he was clear on how important it is for his continued presence at Elland Road that he maintains the same influence over sporting decisions.

"So far this club wanted me to run the sport and wanted me to be there with the final decision, the final say in each everything," he said. "Perhaps they have other thoughts in the process and going forward, perhaps not. We have to speak about it, but one thing is also for sure, I will also just lead the project when I'm in charge, and I overtake the decisions like I've done in the recent years."

1. Åpne pengeboka i sommer for å fortsette fremgangen.

5 years ago #LUFC had just finished 9th in the Premier League and the following summer they failed to back Marcelo Bielsa in the transfer market - it is the pivotal point in Leeds' recent history that Daniel Farke mentioned in today's press conference.

Leeds had not signed a central midfielder for 4.5 years; and when a fan asked then-owner Andrea Radrizzani who the new midfielder would be he replied 'Adam Forshaw' - a player plagued by injury problems.

This is the mistake Farke doesn't want repeating - the failure to back Marcelo Bielsa - who had just returned Leeds' highest finish in the Premier League for 20 years.

That summer window was one of the worst in Leeds' recent history and sowed the seeds of the club's relegation the following season.

In the summer of 2021, Leeds only made 3 significant purchases for the first team: Dan James (23), Junior Firpo (24) and Jack Harrison (24) (who had been on loan the previous seasons).

They were rolling the dice on these prospects, plus six other under 21 players - all good acquisitions - but nowhere near ready for the first team.

185 days after the Radrizzani 'Forshaw' tweet - Marcelo Bielsa was sacked.

The failure to not push on and back Bielsa after he took Leeds to the top half of England's top tier is a decision that still haunts the club when the Argentinian's name is mentioned.

Daniel Farke wants to ensure that the club are aligned in not wanting to repeat the errors of the past.

Farke said in the press conference today: "We, as a club, had one good season in the Premier League in the last 25 years and that was under Marcelo. And we didn't capitalise on it. And now we have had this good season. But if you think as a club you want to just 'maintain the status quo' - then it won't be good enough."

#LUFC are at a crossroads. A similar pivotal fork in the road as 5 years ago. One path is built on a professional ambitious plan that is heavily backed in the transfer market. The other undoes everything the staff and players have worked to achieve the past 3 seasons.

This is the summer transfer window that will define the next 5-10 years of Leeds United's future - the club has to get it right: Daniel Farke knows it, the fans know it, and it is now up to the owner's to put in place the plan and investment that will take Leeds to the next level.

@Adonis Storr

Liker at det kommer press på eierene.
Endelig.
Går alt for ofte fri desverre.

Bokser langt over sin vektklasse.

Sjeldent.
