Royals goalkeeper Graham Stack has sealed a three-month loan spell with Championship side Leeds United.
Acting as Marcus Hahnemann's understudy this season, the ex-Arsenal stopper has yet to play a part in Reading's inaugural Premiership campaign.
Stack has kept goal in both our Carling Cup clashes this season however, last featuring in our dramatic 4-3 defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday night.
He has also impressed in Brian McDermott's reserves side, most recently keeping Portsmouth striker Lomano Lua Lua at bay in a 5-0 win for the Royals.
Stack will now look to challenge experienced Elland Road keepers Neil Sullivan and on-loan Tony Warner for a first team berth at Leeds.
Adam Federici, who has been recalled from a loan spell at Bristol City, will now provide the goalkeeping cover and will take his place on the bench for Saturday's clash with Portsmouth.
Graham Stack
United's new managerial duo of Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet were at Anfield on Wednesday night to watch Stack in action and liked what they saw.
Stack has worked under Wise before, serving the ex-Chelsea man for much of Millwall's 2004/5 campaign.
On loan from Arsenal at the time, Stack made 30 Lions appearances including a stint in Uefa Cup defeat to Ferencvaros that season.
The loan spell starts immediately and will expire on 27th January 2007. Leeds are one spot off bottom in the Coca-Cola Championship but now begin a new era under the former Blues pair.
United take on Southend United this Saturday, in a repeat of the midweek fixture that saw the Shrimpers earn a place in the Fourth Round of the Carling Cup with a 3-1 win at Elland Road.
