Hadde kanskje vært noe jevnere om Bolton hadde stilt med 1.laget. Nesten utrolig at de i det hele tatt kan stille med U-23 lag med tanke på hvordan det sto til der i høst

Leeds United (4-1-4-1)
1 Kamil Miazek - six
Virtually a passenger on a freezing night in Lancashire. Not at fault for what became Bolton Wanderers’ consolation.

2 Bryce Hosannah - seven
Solid display at right-back. As keen as ever to bomb forward and affect the match in the final third. Linked up nicely with Jack Clarke to create more than one opening in the first period.

6 Charlie Cresswell - six
Distribution was a little shaky at times, but, as with Miazek, not given a lot of work to do other than head high balls away.


5 Oliver Casey - seven
Looked a touch more commanding and convincing than his defensive partner. Perhaps his exposure to the first team helps him stand out. Won everything in the air and plenty in reserve if Bolton threatened to kick into a higher gear.

3 Pascal Struijk © - seven
More used to seeing him at centre-half this season, but has the left foot and technical ability to do a job down the flank. Does not have the burning pace of an out and out full-back, but Bolton were so deep he had all the territory he wanted.

4 Alfie McCalmont - six
Quieter night by his standards in this company and then pulled at the break. Late more than once with a few challenges.

10 Jack Clarke - nine
Much more like the quality we were seeing at this level before he was eventually blooded by Marcelo Bielsa. A pinch of salt given how poor the opposition were, but you can only play what’s in front of you and the Tottenham Hotspur man was a class above. Caused havoc with every attack in the second half as the hosts committed men forward. Maybe one eye on the January window and impressing watching scouts.

8 Jack Jenkins - seven
Overshadowed McCalmont on the night with his midfield display during the first half and then went to right-back in the second period. Quieter there, but another of the under-18s who is well established now.

7 Mateusz Bogusz - six
Couple of decent strikes at goal, but not much else in his 45 minutes.

11 Ezgjan Alioski - six
Took his straightforward goal as you would expect, but aside from that he was going through the motions. Only natural a player of his calibre and importance may not quite fancy it on a cold night in Lancashire. At walking speed towards the end.

14 Eddie Nketiah - seven
Effort and application was there, encouragingly for a man who could have been playing against Manchester City in the Premier League last night. Won the penalty and stuck it away coolly and finished his second goal nicely too. Could have had more on the night. Not electric, but solid and will be pleased to get his first 90 minutes in for the club since August 27.

9 Jordan Stevens (on for Bogusz h/t) - six
Naturally fares better when he can use his speed in wider areas, but got about and looked lively.
13 Theo Hudson
15 Robbie Gotts (on for Hosannah h/t) - seven
Such a terrier in the middle and never allows any mismatch in size to throw him off his game. Good awareness and anticipation to follow up and stick away the fourth goal on the rebound.
16 Nohan Kenneh (on for McCalmont h/t) - seven
One of the gems from the younger ranks at Thorp Arch. F***ed in easily here. Tall, strong, powerful and a barrier in front of the defence. Definitely one to watch.

Tipper kanskje Casey, ble nevnt i repotasjen om han som du la ut forleden at han har spilt en del der for U23. Sikkert en del av prosessen med at Bielsa ønsker ballsikre stoppere,at de også blir brukt på midten, fin måte og utvikle dette på. Kan jo også være vi spilte med tre stoppere denne gangen, men trolig ikke..

Lived my best life today. My lad meeting God & meeting a few first teamers too.
Pretty amazing that was a free day out too, watching the U23s playing some quite brilliant football, the future is bright very bright & the Leeds United conveyer belt continues.1/2 #lufc

Seeing the changes already happening at Thorp Arch is fantastic the standard of the pitches is phenomenal too, the whole set up is on another level2/2 #lufc

And only getting better. Don’t know about you but we also feel the importance put on breaking down the barriers between players and fans.
Even Bielsa came out today at 1/2 time to speak to everyone and do pics/autographs. He didn’t need to do that but he just gets what it means
