FINGER'N TIL BENNETT GIR KEEPERTRØBBEL -

RETT I TROPPEN FOR WARNER

Sheffield U. må ut for å finne short time keepercover.

Uflaks!

Vår on loan-keeper Tony går trolig rett inn i rollen som reservekeeper.

GRAYSON WINS DECEMBER BOSS GONG
Blackpool's Simon Grayson has won the League One Manager of the Month award for December.

Grayson's side produced their best form of the season in December, taking maximum points from five of their six league games. Their winning run included home victories over Cheltenham Town, Carlisle United and Doncaster Rovers. The Seasiders form away from Bloomfield Road was equally impressive, registering wins over Bournemouth and high-flying Scunthorpe United to end the month amongst the Play-Off places in Coca-Cola League 1.

Also short-listed for the December award in Coca-Cola League 1 were Sean O'Driscoll of Doncaster Rovers, John Sheridan of Oldham Athletic and Scunthorpe United's Nigel Adkins.

Chris Kamara said: "Simon Grayson is doing a terrific job at Blackpool. His side produced a string of impressive performances in December, particularly their result at Scunthorpe which made everyone in League 1 stand up and take notice. Their points haul during the month has seen the Seasiders go from mid-table to serious Play-Off contenders."

Grayson said: "It was a successful month for the club. We got off to a bad start this season but we've turned it round now. We've got in a position where we can kick on."

VIDUKA TIL ITALIA

MARK VIDUKA is set to snub West Ham and opt for a summer move to Italy.

The Middlesbrough hitman, 31, has been offered a deal by Genoa for next season and is likely to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Serie B club next week.

Spurs and Newcastle have also made inquiries as Boro have only just opened talks about an extension to his £40,000-a-week contract.

Phil Masinga

Var Baris toppscorer i Serie A i to sesonger.

"Masinga is married with Carol and has 2 children: Sifiso who is 6 and the little Teneko. He is used to eat very slowly enjoing his meals. Red wine and meat are his favourite option."

"Former South Africa World Cup hero Philemon Masinga was arrested at the weekend for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Reports said police detained Masinga in Klerksdorp, 130km west of here, and that he would face charges of drunken and reckless driving and of obstructing officers and resisting arrest. He was later released on bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday. " (16.01.05)

""Our guest speaker on AIDS Day was popular former soccer player Phil Masinga who played on one of this area's favorite teams and later in Europe," Stark remarked. Masinga, who scored the winning goal that took South Africa to the World Cup in 1998, "delivered a motivational speech about AIDS awareness and encouraged people to know their HIV status." Tony Yeboah

Age: 40
Languages: French, German and English.
German? He played for Eintracht Frankfurt for 4 years before joining Leeds - his only English club.
Leeds Era: 1995-97.
Impact: Immense. He scored some fantastic goals.
Weakness: A bit lazy.
Claim to fame: He scored Leeds' greatest goal ever as voted by the supporters. 21st August 1995 was the day we all remember where we were.
Like the day Kennedy was shot? Yeboah actually flew in to Leeds from his home in Ghana to collect the award.
What happened when he left Leeds? He went back to Germany (Hamburg SV) and then quickstep into semi-retirement in Qatar.
For what reason? He was found quilty of not paying any taxes by a German court and fined £114.000.
Retired: 2002. He went back home to his mansion in East Legon, near Accra.
To run a pub? Hardly. Yeboah has God like status in Ghana and helped run soccer schools via a company calles Sportventurer.
That's nice for him: In 2003 he opened his own hotel called "Yegoala" in Accra.
Does it have Leeds United themed rooms? The George Graham has two entrances so you cn make a quick exit out the back door. The Harry Kewell room has water which runs hot and then cold for a long time. The Seth Johnson Suite is £5.000 a night. Each Leeds room has a goldfish.
Really? No but prices do vary. Rooms start at £50.
So things are rosey? So-so. He was conned out of £100.000 in 2003 when he bought some land that the seller never actually owned. We live and learn...
But he can't be short of money? He's a celebrity. Even estate agents sell houses saying "not far from Tony Yeboah's estate". He also have a property develoment company and a hospitality business in the city.
Family: Wifte Tasha and 4 children.

TIDENES KORTESTE TRANSFERS

5 days
Dietmar Hamann
Liverpool to Bolton Wanderers - Fee: £?
11/07/2006 to 12/07/2006
Appearances: 0
The German international 'changed his mind' after signing for Bolton Wanderers and promptly joined Manchester City for a £400k fee.
Bolton's chairman Phil Gartside said: "He [Hamann] rang me when I was in Germany and he felt like he couldn't travel to Bolton because it's too far from the Wirral, irrespective of the fact that City is probably further away than Bolton."

5 days
Mauricio Taricco
Tottenham Hotspur to West Ham United - Fee: Free
19/11/2004 to 24/11/2004
Appearances: 1
The former Ipswich Town defender offered to cancel his contract following an hamstring tear on his debut at Millwall, where he lasted just 27 minutes.

11 days
David Livermore
Millwall to Leeds United - Fee: Undisc.
21/07/2006 to 01/08/2006
Appearances: 0
Leeds released a statement on why the midfielder left the Elland Road club so soon. They said: "At the time of signing David, Kevin Nicholls and another potential midfield target weren't available to us. We then managed to acquire Kevin Nicholls and things have now opened up on another target. The situation with David is that with everyone fit he is unlikely to play. He's an honest professional and when the opportunity came up for him to talk to Hull we gave him that choice. We wish David all the very best for the future."

19 days
Drewe Broughton
Norwich City to Brentford - Fee: £15k
28/10/1998 to 16/11/1998
Appearances: 1
The striker was highly-rated at Norwich and was expected to go on to bigger and better things, but after just four first-team appearances at Carrow Road, Broughton moved on to Brentford, with whom he made just the one league appearance. 19 days later he moved to Peterborough United, where Brentford recouped their fee.

27 days
David Unsworth
West Ham United to Aston Villa - Fee: £3m
24/06/1998 to 21/08/1998
Appearances: 0
The England international made the move North to abide by his wife's wishes. Unsworth realised that he made the wrong move within a week and so after negotiations, he returned to Everton for the same fee that Aston Villa initially paid.

48 days
Paul Ritchie
Bolton Wanderers to Rangers - Fee: Bosman
01/07/2000 to 17/08/2000
Appearances: 0
It had appeared that former Hearts defender, Paul Ritchie, had finally got his dream move. Unfortunately for him, it turned sour when he failed to appear in the Rangers squad and thus led to a move to Manchester City.

57 days
Joey Beauchamp
Oxford United to West Ham United - Fee: £1m
22/06/1994 to 18/08/1994
Appearances: 0
Soon after his move the winger suffered from homesickness, then followed a move to Swindon Town for £850k. Months later he returned back to Oxford United for just £300k.

60 days
Asa Hartford
Manchester City to Nottingham Forest - Fee: £400k
29/06/1979 to 28/08/1979
Appearances: 3
Forest legend Brian Clough signed up the player as he was unsettled at Maine Road. The Scot two months later had a change of heart about his future at Forest and soon left to Everton for £100k.

62 days
Clive Allen
Queens Park Rangers to Arsenal - Fee: £1.25m
13/06/1980 to 14/08/1980
Appearances: 1 (friendly)
At the time, goalscorer Clive Allen was the League's most expensive teenager when he left Loftus Road. As he was signed during the summer, he wore the Arsenal shirt just once before joining Crystal Palace - which saw defender Kenny Sansom move across London to the Gunners.

92 days
John Sheridan
Leeds United to Nottingham Forest - Fee: £650k
03/08/1989 to 03/11/1989
Appearances: 1
Irish international John Sheridan made little impact at the City Ground by making just one appearance during a League Cup tie, he left to join Sheffield Wednesday for £500k.

OPPTUR FOR DANNY!

CADAMARTERI VOWS TO GRASP CHANCE
Danny Cadamarteri admitted his return to football with Leicester is a "fantastic opportunity" after coming off the bench to score an injury-time equaliser in the FA Cup third-round clash with Fulham.

The former Sheffield United and Everton forward had been suspended for testing positive for a banned substance while at previous club Bradford, who subsequently released the player.

However, after serving a six-month ban, Cadamarteri was given a contract until the end of the season by Foxes boss Rob Kelly, making his debut as a substitute in the New Year's Day defeat by Sunderland.

Kelly's substitution paid off on Saturday when Cadamarteri connected with the persistent Levi Porter's cross from the left and swept the ball into the net with virtually the last kick of the game to give the Foxes a 2-2 draw at the Walkers Stadium.

It was nothing more than the hosts deserved and Cadamarteri believes it was a fitting finale for both himself and the club.

He said: "From the club's point of view, it's a big day because we got a result against a big club - another big club.

And, from a personal point of view, I was on the scoresheet - obviously I was delighted to be involved in that as well.

"Coming here, whether it be against Fulham or against Sunderland in the league, the atmosphere is fantastic, the set up is like a Premier League club. The only thing missing is the Premier League status at the moment.

"Coming here was an eye opener for me because its something I've not experienced for quite some years now.

"Walking out in front of 20,000-30,000 fans is a fantastic opportunity."

Cadamarteri had a spell with Nationwide Conference side Grays in order to get match fitness following his six-month suspension but, rather than set any lofty goals with the Foxes, the Bradford-born player is looking to stake a claim for a starting spot at the Walkers Stadium.

"I haven't set any massive targets," he continued. "My main target is to gain a level of fitness, work hard and get as many minutes on the pitch as possible.

"If I can work hard and gain a level of fitness, it's up to me to try to stake a claim in the place in the team and I'm not expecting to do that straight away.

"I'm expecting to come in here, work hard, learn from the staff and the manager and progress a little bit and at some point get that opportunity."

The Foxes had held the attacking edge in the first half of an open game but the visitors took the lead through Brian McBride after 69 minutes.

Patrick Kisnorbo levelled but, when Moritz Volz put the Cottagers back in front with seven minutes to go, it appeared they were heading for the fourth round before Cadamarteri's late intervention.

AARON SIGNS NEW DEAL

The Club is delighted to announce that Aaron Lennon has signed a new five and a half year contract, which sees him at the Club until 2012.

The 19-year-old joined from Leeds United in July 2005 and has since made 48 appearances in our colours, scoring four goals. His swift breakthrough into the First Team fold was followed by international recognition and the now holder of seven England caps was a member of the World Cup squad that travelled to Germany last summer.

"Aaron has taken his chances and made himself into a regular First Team player in a short space of time and we often forget how young he still is," said manager Martin Jol . "As a player he is growing and developing, he is a great talent now and clearly there is so much more still to come. He is a prime example of the exciting young talent we are attracting to the Club."

Aaron Lennon added: "I'm feeling really settled here at the Club and I'm thoroughly enjoying my football. There is a terrific spirit in the squad and we have everything to play for this season."

EX-PLAYER RYKTER 9/1:

As well as paying Ljungberg his staggering £70,000-a-week wages, Fleet Street also believes that the Hammers are willing to pay Mark Viduka silly money.
The East Londoners have, according to the Daily Express, told the Aussie that they will improve his Middlesbrough wages if he moves south. So how much is that. Over to the Daily Mirror: 'Alan Curbishley has made Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka his top priority - and is ready to offer him a staggering £60,000-a-week deal.'

SMITH MAKES DUNDEE SWITCH

Sunderland youngster Kevin Smith has joined Dundee on loan until May.

The 19-year-old was granted permission to leave by manager Roy Keane just days after returning from his previous loan spell at Wrexham.

Smith joined the Black Cats from Leeds in January 2006 but he has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Wearside club.

The striker will link up with former Sunderland midfielder Alex Rae, who is now in-charge of the side currently lying fifth in the Scottish First Division.

Smith will go straight into the squad to face Airdrie at the weekend.

SMITH WANTS TO STAY PUT

Alan Smith will snub a January transfer away from Old Trafford as he wants to stay and fight for a first-team place with Manchester United.

According to The Manchester Evening News, around 80 percent of clubs in the Premiership have enquired about Smith's availability - either permanently or on loan.

Wigan are the latest team to be linked with the England hitman, who joined United for £7million from Leeds in the summer of 2004.

He was a big success up front early in his Old Trafford career, but a move to back to midfield and then a horrific injury at Anfield last season stunted his progress.

Now he's struggling to make a first-team impression, but the paper claims he has no intention of quitting the club.

RICHARDS STAYS BUT MILLS COULD GO

(....)
Danny Mills, 29, is a different matter however and Pearce - who has several transfer targets himself - said he would listen to offers.

Pearce told the Manchester Evening News: "It is not prudent to suggest who might go but if an opportunity came for Danny to go and play some football then we would listen to it.

"I think Danny would be open-minded too. He has kept his head down and had a good spell away at Hull and done well. The unfortunate thing for Danny has been the emergence of Micah Richards.

KEV: I'M NEW STOKES

SUNDERLAND star Kevin Smith last night moved on loan to Dundee - then vowed to be as prolific as Anthony Stokes.

Smith, 19, followed in the footsteps of Sunderland new boy Stokes by joining Alex Rae's men on loan until the end of the season.

The young striker watched Stokes light up the SPL while on loan at Falkirk from Arsenal before being snapped up by Roy Keane.

Smith said: "I've heard all about Anthony doing so well in Scotland. Hopefully I can do much the same and get the most out of my move to Dundee. I just want to get playing regularly and see where it takes me."

Kilde: Daily Record (http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=kev%2D-i%2Dm-new-stokes-%26method=full%26objectid=18432292%26siteid=66633-name_page.html)
-----

Kevin signs up

Dundee tried to get new striker Kevin Smith in ahead of last Saturday's cup tie against Queen of the South but couldn't do the deal in time "It's a pity" said Chief Executive Dave MacKinnon "He might have made the difference, unfortunately Kevin and anyone else we sign this week won't be eligible under SFA rules to play in the cup replay" - but Kevin and any other new boys can face Airdrie United this weekend and will give much needed respite to the lads who have played five games in fourteen days.

We spoke to Kevin after he signed this afternoon and he told us "I'm glad to be here, hopefully we can progress up the league from the team's point of view and hopefully I'll get a few goals for myself along the way.

"It's been difficult at Sunderland in recent months because we didn't have a reserve side, I'm just looking for a fresh start here and looking forward to playing some football."

Asked about the impact that new Sunderland player Anthony Stokes had on Scottish football Kevin said "It just shows the impact you can have if you hit the back of the net regularly, I got the chance to introduce myself to Anthony before coming up here, but just that - I'd love to make an impact like he did."

"I've tried to keep up to date with Scottish football while I've been down south - but it's difficult at times - after being up here on trial early in the season I've kept an eye out for how Dundee were doing in the First Division."

"I think that this league is tight, Gretna may have a lead but I don't think there's much between any of the sides in the First Division, if we could get a good run going we can kick up the table."

"The impression I've got from Alex Rae is that he just wants to win, obviously I know he's been a good player over the years, so it's good for me to have the opportunity to come here and work with him."

"He and Roy Keane were similar players and the way they talk, they obviously want to do the best for their clubs - they both want to win, which is the main thing."

"I'm the kind of player who is always in and around in the box, hopefully I can get a few goals and I'm sure if that happens I'll enjoy my time here."

The nineteen year old, Edinburgh born striker joined Sunderland from Leeds United in January 2006 and spent part of the first half of this season on loan at Wrexham where he made ten first team appearances scoring twice. Five foot eleven inches tall, he was at Hearts and Livingston as a kid before heading South.

Kevin will go straight into the squad for the trip to the Shyberry Excelsior Stadium to face Airdrie United this weekend, but unfortunately as he was signed after the first match was played won't be eligible to play against Queen of the South in the Tennent's Scottish Cup next midweek, though he would be able to play in the next round should Dundee progress in the competition.
