The midfielder said he would love to see his former club back in the Premier League where they belong, although hates the idea of having to play against them twice a season!
He said: “Hopefully their new manager can turn their fortunes around and get them on an upward spiral again.â€
“I’ve been out of Yorkshire too long really. I’m still a Leeds fan, still check their scores and have to represent the White Rose on the other side of the Pennines.â€
Milner appeared at Leeds Trinity University for the unveiling of his new role as the first Chancellor of Leeds Children’s University.

During his visit he took the time to pose for photos with the children, get involved with the activities and answer any burning questions. He expressed the importance of role models giving back to the community: “as footballers we are very fortunate to do something we love as a living.â€
“We get a profile by playing football and you have to use that for good. To be able to say that, it’s pretty special.â€
“If I can change just one person’s life and give them that encouragement to take up sport, extra-curricular activities or just try a little bit harder at school that’s a job well done.â€
