FA cup-kamp 10/11:

Bury - Workington 4-1 (1-0)
1-0 Scott 22, 1-1 Berkeley (75), 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 Bishop (80, 85, 90)
Att: 2641

Bury saved by treble hero Bishop
Andy Bishop spared Bury's blushes with a hat-trick in the last 11 minutes to secure a 4-1 FA Cup win at home to Workington on Saturday.

Bishop: Hat-trick hero

The 20-year-old Manchester-born striker fired the visitors level after 74 minutes. But Bishop ensured there would be no return at Borough Park with his late treble.
Last season's leading scorer headed home a Nicky Adams free-kick which goalkeeper Adam Collin let slip through his hands.
With the non-Leaguers, appearing in the first round for 25 years, pushing for another equaliser, Bishop netted a great solo effort to wrap up the match.
And he completed his hat-trick in stoppage time from substitute Andy Mangan's pass.

Bury:

Casper hails brilliant Bishop
Bury boss Chris Casper was delighted with Andy Bishop after he helped the Shakers to the FA Cup second round at the expense of Workington.
"It was great for Bish to get three. He doesn't lack confidence but needed 90 minutes under his belt and he got that.
"The match was a potential banana skin so this is a great result for us, especially after they equalised.
"Thankfully we were able to score quickly after their equaliser and that killed them off."
Bury travel to Leeds in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday, and Casper agrees the roles will be reversed, adding: "The pressure will be off us because Leeds will be favourites.
"So, hopefully we can put in a good performance and see what happens."

United youngster can solve fullback problem

Ben Parker

PROMISING Leeds United full-back Ben Parker has told boss Dennis Wise he is ready to solve the club's left-back dilemma.
Parker, who turns 20 on Wednesday, replaced on-loan Jamie Clapham in the starting-line-up for Friday night's goalless draw against Hereford United in the FA Cup.
And the lifelong Whites fan is hoping for the perfect early birthday present by keeping his place in the side for tomorrow night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy (JPT) Northern Section quarter-final against Bury at Elland Road.
For United it is a great chance for the club to make another successful step along the road to Wembley, while home-grown star Parker will aiming stake a claim to a more permanent slot in the Whites' starting line-up.
So far this season, Parker has played in everyone of United's cup matches – the Carling Cup ties with Macclesfield and Portsmouth and the JPT win at Darlington, but his league involvement has been restricted to a couple of cameos off the bench against Southend United and Nottingham Forest earlier in the season.
With regular left back Clapham due to return to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers later this month, manager Wise admits he has a decision to make regarding the left-back position.
Speaking after the Hereford match Wise said he was torn between giving Parker, who spent a successful loan spell at neighbouring Bradford City last season, his chance and bringing in another player.
Wise said: "Ben has come on a lot and I am going to have to have a look at the situation because Jamie is going back to Wolves and I need someone who is capable of going in.
"Whether I bring someone in or go with Ben we will just have to wait and see."
Leeds-born Parker is willing to bide his time and take his chances when they come along, but he says the manager need have no fears if he has to call on him in the coming weeks.
He said: "Before Hereford I hadn't had a game for quite a bit, since Darlington in the Johnstone's Paints Trophy, so I am just grateful to get a game whenever I can really and the more games the better for me.
"My aim is to be playing again tomorrow night and that would be fantastic if it happens. But if not I will support whoever plays.
"I think Jamie's loan finishes after the Swindon game but whatever happens, if they bring someone in then that is up to the gaffer.
"But he knows that I am ready and if he needs to call on me I will more than willing to take the shirt."
Parker admits he is confident in his own ability but that should be seen youthful exuberance rather than arrogance.
He said: "Jamie has been magnificent since he has been here especially to me. He was encouraging me against Hereford and giving me advice which is great and what I want.
"I think you have got to have confidence in your own ability, otherwise you come to places like Hereford and it can affect you if you are nervous.
"Most of the lads are confident in themselves, but having said that you don't want to be too over confident otherwise it just won't happen for you."
If Parker does get the nod from Wise tomorrow night he is likely to make way for Clapham for Saturday's key League One clash with Swindon at Elland Road.
However he could be recalled for next Tuesday's FA Cup first round replay at home to Hereford United.
"It was quite an intimidating atmosphere down there, a bit different from Elland Road.
"It sounded like there were 20,000 in there and it made for a good atmosphere, it was more or less their cup final and we held out strongly at the end.
"At Hereford it feels like the fans are right on top of you and hopefully we can get a big crowd at home when they do come and they can sample our atmosphere!"
If United overcome the Bulls they will play Hartlepool United at Elland Road, but they nearly did not make it through and Parker admits they were indebted to keeper Casper Ankergren whose brilliant second half save from Lionel Ainsworth's header kept United in the cup.
"Casper has been in fine form all season and he is always there if we need to call on him to dig us out of trouble and fortunately for us he did so then."
Despite Wise and United's priority being promotion straight back out of League One at the end of this season, Parker admits the cups are an important and lucrative distraction for the squad.
"I think they are both massively important and there is a lot of money in them really, especially if you can get to the third round of the FA Cup and draw a Premiership side say Manchester United away or back at Elland Road.
"I am sure the fans would love that – and we would too!
"For myself, the cups have been massive this year because that is where I have played most of my games so get on a good cup run will be beneficial for me too."
After an arduous week on the road, where United visited both ends of the country as part of a 1,400-mile odyssey, Parker is looking forward to the much shorter trip down to Elland Road for tomorrow's game.
He said: "It is nice to get off that coach and back to Elland Road and hopefully we can get a better performance than we did against Hereford, turn Bury over and move forward.
"After that it is a semi-final and then we are only two or three games away from Wembley so that is another big incentive for the boys.
"First and foremost our main objective is to get out of League One, we are too big a club to be in that division but that is where we are.
"Our main aim is to get out of there and if anything comes after that then we will take it. A trip to Wembley would be lovely for the boys and the fans.
"After the last few years they have gone through it would be great for them too."

Wise to shuffle Leeds United pack

Wise prepares to shuffle his pack

DENNIS WISE is planning to once again shuffle his pack when Leeds United take on Bury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Elland Road tomorrow night.
The United boss is planning to give some of his first team fringe players a run-out in the Northern Section quarter-final – Leeds' fourth match in the past ten days.
Striker Leon Constantine, winger Filipe Da Costa, midfielders Jonny Howson and Curtis Weston, along with defenders Paul Huntington and Ben Parker all look set to feature at some stage against the League Two side.
Wise admitted after United's goalless draw at Hereford United in the FA Cup on Friday night that his squad had been left "tired and jaded" by three long-haul away trips to Carlisle, Bournemouth and Hereford which had seen them clock up 1,400 miles in less than a week.
And he is urging those he does select for the Bury tie to grab their chance for a more regular piece of first team action.
Wise said: "Bury is a chance for the likes of Leon (Constantine) and (Filipe) Da Costa. They will have a chance of playing the game.
"It will be good because it is at home. Hopefully we can get a good crowd and they can show me what they can do.
"It is important for some of these players who haven't played for a long time to feel part of it and be involved and it would be good for them to get a run out."
With full-back Frazer Richardson and midfielder David Prutton both forced to miss the Hereford game with a stomach bug and midfielders Andy Hughes and Radostin Kishishev still side-lined by injury, Wise is likely to give them the best possible chance to be fit for Saturday's key League One match at home to Swindon Town.
And he has also warned veteran midfielder Alan Thompson that he will not be recalled to the first team squad until he has proved his has fully overcome a series of niggling injuries.
He said: "Alan Thompson has only trained 14 days in 48 and he is not fit. If you think you can train for three days and come and play a game, I'm afraid that doesn't happen.
"He did that last time and pulled a hamstring, then did it again and pulled a groin and did it another time and pulled a calf.
"So we have to get him fit, he has to be fit and he knows that now."
"I can't afford for him to have silly little injuries and to be breaking down because he has not done enough rehab."
Wise will once again be confined to a seat in the John Charles Stand as he completes the second of his three-match touchline ban with assistant manager Dave Bassett again guiding Leeds from the side of the pitch.
"It is different in the stand. I don't want too many more of these, but I have got another two to go unfortunately, so I will just have to get on with it.
"Dave did all right (at Hereford) but he was breathing a bit because he had to go up and down to the stand a few times.
"He was puffed out, bless him, because he is getting old now!"

*Tickets for United's FA Cup first round replay against Hereford at Elland Road on Tuesday, November 20 go on sale this morning at 10.30am.
They are priced at £15/£8 for the North Stand and £20 and £10 for the West and East Lower, with Hereford in the South Stand.
Fans booking tickets on-line will be entered into a draw to win two directors box tickets for the match at Hartlepool United on Boxing Day.
Tickets for the Huddersfield Town match on Saturday, December 8 also go on sale to Members only from today.

*United will be at home to League One rivals Hartlepool in the second round of the FA Cup if they can overcome Hereford.
The game is due to be played on the first weekend in December.

Duo set for rare Leeds starts

Leon Constantine and Filipe Da Costa could make their first starts for Leeds in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Bury on Tuesday.

Constantine: Set to start

Striker Constantine, a summer signing from Port Vale, has made two appearances from the substitutes' bench.
Da Costa, signed from Greek side Ionikos in September, has stepped off the bench on six occasions, but has yet to make the starting line-up.
Manager Dennis Wise is expected to stick with several fringe players following the goalless FA Cup draw at Hereford on Friday.
Defenders Ben Parker and Paul Huntington and midfield pair Jonny Howson and Curtis Weston will all be hoping to retain their places in the side.
Skipper Alan Thompson is not expected to return to the squad following a calf injury and fellow midfielder Andy Hughes misses the northern section quarter-final due to a one-game ban.

Leeds are a big club and a great club: Bury boss Casper

Bury Head Coach Chris Casper is in positive mood ahead of his side's trip across the Pennines to face Leeds United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tomorrow night. The Shaker's boss, fresh from seeing his side romp through their first round FA Cup tie with non-league Workington on Saturday, declared: 'We will go to Elland Road confident and whoever will play for us will enjoy a good game for us. It would have been nice to meet Leeds United in the area final, but beggars can't be choosers.'

'Leeds are a big club and a great club, it will be good to go there and play. We haven't played there since the 67/68 season. It's great for the fans because many will not have seen Bury play at Elland Road, we will go there and give a good account for ourselves and enjoy ourselves.'

Casper - has one player missing

BULLOCK BLOW FOR BURY

Bury boss Chris Casper has only one absentee for his side's Johnstone's Paint Trophy quarter-final at Leeds.
On-loan Hartlepool midfielder Lee Bullock is ineligible to face Dennis Wise's side as his parent club are still in the competition and do not want him cup-tied.
But Casper has no other concerns as his men seek to build on their FA Cup first-round win against Workington with victory at Elland Road.
The Shakers destroyed the Cumbrian minnows 4-1 on Saturday and Casper is remaining guarded about his team selection ahead of the trip across the Pennines.
Teenager Dale Stephens came into midfield against Workington to make his first start of the season, while Colin Woodthorpe and Andy Bishop were also added to the side and should feature again.

Mark De Vries has returned to Leeds for a second loan spell and could go straight into the side.
Leon Constantine and Filipe Da Costa could also make their first starts.
Striker Constantine, a summer signing from Port Vale, has made two appearances from the substitutes' bench.
Da Costa, signed from Greek side Ionikos in September, has stepped off the bench on six occasions, but has yet to make the starting line-up.

ps. LSK fikk billig første mål i finalen !!!  :-*

Håper i alle fall følgende spillere starter i kveld!

Marching on together!

Leeds United manager Dennis Wise looks set to field a new-look strikeforce when they take on Bury in the Johnstone's Paints Trophy Northern Section quarter-final at Elland Road tonight (7.45pm).

Fit-again striker Leon Constantine is set for his first start of the season after recovering from a foot injury picked up on United's pre-season tour, alongside hitman Mark De Vries, who rejoined the club yesterday.

Winger Filipe Da Costa is in line for his full debut after coming off the bench several times, including in the goalless FA Cup draw at Hereford on Friday night.

David Lucas, who kept a clean sheet in the second victory over Darlington, could replace Casper Ankergren in goal while on loan midfielder Radostin Kishishev (stomach strain) could be in line for a surprise recall in midfield.

Full-back Frazer Richardson (stomach bug) is unlikely to be risked, meaning another run-out for defender Paul Huntington, while full-back Ben Parker and midfielders Curtis Weston and Jonny Howson will be looking to hold on to their places.

David Prutton (stomach bug) could be on the bench.

Fellow midfielder Shaun Derry is unlikely to be risked and looks set to continue his recovery from a long-term Achilles injury in the reserves, while Alan Thompson, Andy Hughes and Ian Westlake are all still sidelined with injury.

In-form Bury, who have lost just one of their last 10 games and are currently 11th in League Two, travel over the Pennines full of confidence after a 4-1 victory over Workington in the first round of the FA Cup at the weekend.

Former York City striker Andy Bishop scored a 10-minute hat-trick for the Shakers, who will be forced into one change as Hartlepool United have refused on-loan midfielder Lee Bullock permission to play

Leeds United (from): Lucas, Huntington, Heath, Rui Marques, Parker, Clapham, Weston, Howson, Kishishev, Da Costa, Carole, Bayly, De Vries, Constantine, Ankergren, Prutton, Richardson.

Lucas
Marques Huntington Heath Parker
Weston Douglas Howson daCosta
De Vries Constantine

Buchanan relishing Leeds test

DAVID Buchanan is hoping to make his first visit to Elland Road a memorable one... to keep him in Bury manager Chris Casper's mind over the international break.
The Shakers' midfielder is aiming to force his way back into the starting line-up for tonight's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern quarter-final at Leeds.
But even if Buchanan plays at Elland Road and has a stormer, he will still drop out of Casper's side, because he will be away with the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad when the Shakers face Peterborough in League Two on Saturday.
It is a source of mild frustration for the 21-year-old, who was dropped to the bench for Saturday's 4-1 FA Cup victory over Workington.
He said: "If I'm picked tonight and I play really well, it's a bit upsetting that I won't be involved in the Posh game.
"If the lads win, you've got to wait another couple of games to get in. But I'm also so proud to represent my country."
But for now, Buchanan is focused on tonight's clash, the first meeting between Bury and Leeds since 1974, when the Shakers were beaten 2-1 in a League Cup tie at Gigg Lane.
The Shakers are hoping to chalk up a first victory at Elland Road since September 1962.
Buchanan said: "It's a great draw for us. I've never played at Elland Road before and I'm hoping I get picked, because I'm really looking forward to it.
"We're the underdogs. But let's hope we can put in the kind of performance Workington did against us on Saturday for long periods, and then maybe we can pull off a shock."
Bury's chances of moving into the semi-finals may be improved if Leeds boss Dennis Wise carries out his plan to rest several first-teamers.

Striker Leon Constantine, winger Filipe Da Costa, midfielders Jonny Howson and Curtis Weston, and defenders Paul Huntington and Ben Parker are all set to feature for Leeds, with joint top scorer Tresor Kandol among those likely to be stood down from duty.
Bury will have defender Ben Futcher available again after suspension, which means Paul Scott is likely to return to his regular midfield role.

Spotlight on: The Shakers

THE GAFFER
At 32 Chris Casper, son of former Burnley striker Frank, is the youngest manager in the top four tiers of the English football league.
A Manchester United trainee, he captained the England youth team and was a member of the European Championship winning side in 1993. He also appeared for the England Under-21 side in Toulon in 1996.
He was playing for Reading when a career-ending tackle left him with a double leg fracture, forcing him to retire at 24. While undergoing rehabilitation at the University of Bath, he coached the Team Bath side that reached the first round of the FA Cup. He left to join Bury as youth coach, taking over first team duties from Graham Barrow in 2005.

THE DANGER
Young central midfielder Nicky Adams, who has weighed in with seven goals so far this season.
The Bolton-born 20-year-old progressed through the club's Youth and Centre of Excellence system and shot to fame with a debut goal against Darlington as he made his first team bow in a 1-0 home win in October, 2005.
He's a Welsh international.

THE FORM
The Shakers are on a tremendous roll, with a single defeat in their last 11 outings in all competitions.
Their latest venture brought a 4-1 success against non-league Workington in the first round of the FA Cup, with former York City striker Andy Bishop, pictured, rattling in a hat-trick in the last 15 minutes.
Casper's cavaliers got to this stage with a 3-1 defeat of neighbours Rochdale.
However, their last outing in League 2 saw them go down 2-1 to Rotherham, a defeat from which they are still smarting given their lofty ambitions for this season.

THE RECORD
The two sides have been kept apart since the 1974/5 season, when they clashed in the third round of the League Cup at Bury and Leeds won 2-1.
They have met four times in cup competitions down the years and Leeds have triumphed in all of them.
As far as league form is concerned, the overall record shows 18 wins for Leeds and 14 for Bury, with 10 ending all-square.

THE ODDS
William Hill have Bury at 5/1 to spring a surprise, with hosts Leeds a prohibitive 4/9. The draw is chalked up at 11/4.

THE WHISTLER
Kevin Friend, who usually leaves fans cursing: "He's no mate of ours!"
In 14 games this season the Leicestershire official has issued 42 yellow cards and five red.
His last sighting of Leeds was in the Elland Road outfit's 2-1Coca-Cola Championship defeat at Norwich in February.

Casper
Fraze - Hunty - Rui - Parker
Carole - Prutton - Thommo - Da Costa
Constantine - Becks
...ikkje verst!
