Blades Chase Ace

Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, San Jose and Toronoto are all chasing former Newcastle United, Leeds United and Coventry City striker Darren Huckerby who has been released by Norwich City.
Huckerby is wanted by several clubs in and outside the United Kingdom and the United States - he has recently been linked with the MLS since his release from Norwich City.
He wont be able to sign for any club until 1st July 2008 but should he join the Major League Soccer its likley that he will join Toronto and team up with ex-Blade and team mate Carl Robinson as well as Daniel Dichio - or maybe he fancies a move to Bramall Lane. Whomever he chooses he will join on a free transfer.

JODY PENS TWO YEAR PERTH DEAL

The latest piece in the jigsaw which Manager Derek McInnes hopes will come together to form a championship winning side has been added this morning with the much-hoped for signing of midfielder Jody Morris.
The former Chelsea and Leeds United star was a big success during his time with Saints in the latter stages of last season and he has been sufficiently impressed with the club to pen a two year deal despite two concrete offers plus interest from other clubs.
With Manager Derek McInnes on holiday, it was left to assistant Tony Docherty to react to the news and he said “This is a massive signing for the club and all credit for it goes to the manager who has had a big influence on Jody.  The player’s friendship with and loyalty to Derek has played a big part in making this happen but Jody will tell you himself that he is very impressed with the club and the staff who have made him feel welcome.
“Jody hasn’t made this decision lightly â€" he has a wife and two kids who he will bring to Scotland â€" but I know that he is looking forward to getting a pre-season under his belt and making a big contribution to Saints.  He will be a big help to some of the younger players such as Andy Jackson, Gary Irvine and Liam Craig.”
Tony revealed that although the Manager is in Florida, he is not out of touch by any means.
“It’s only 5am across there but he’s already been on the phone a couple of times this morning wanting to know that the signing has gone through and he is delighted that it has.”

CARSON CALLS FOR REALISTIC PRICE
Goalkeeper Scott Carson has called for Liverpool to place a realistic price tag on his head as he revealed his desire to sort out his long-term future.
Carson spent the 2007-2008 campaign on loan to Aston Villa in a £1.5million deal after having previously experienced similar spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton.
Villa manager Martin O'Neill is considering his goalkeeping options for next season with Thomas Sorensen poised to leave now that his contract has come to an end.
But, wherever his future lies, 22-year-old Carson wants a fair price to be asked by the Reds for his services.
There has been speculation that Rafael Benitez will be asking around £10million for Carson.

Fowler dreams of Cup 'fairytale'
Robbie Fowler admits ending a season of personal agony by scoring an FA Cup final winner for Cardiff City would be 'Roy of the Rovers' stuff.
A hip injury has kept the ex-England striker out for five months but Cardiff boss Dave Jones is set to name him as a substitute against Portsmouth.
"Bearing in mind the season I've had, scoring the winner in an FA Cup final would be fairytale stuff," said Fowler.
"But I'd settle for any of the Cardiff boys scoring the winner."
Superstar Fowler is arguably Cardiff's highest-profile signing in their history.

Leeds fans wrong about Ridsdale â€" McPhail

Cardiff City captain Stephen McPhail believes the Leeds United supporters are wrong to blame former chairman Peter Ridsdale for all their woes.
McPhail and Ridsdale, who were together at both Leeds and Barnsley, will hope to bring FA Cup glory to south Wales on Saturday afternoon.
Ridsdale was blamed by many for the collapse of Leeds, which saw the Elland Road side plummet from Uefa Champions League semi-finalists seven years ago to the third tier of English football today.
But Irish international McPhail would love to deliver some silverware for his boss â€" because he does not deserve the criticism he’s received in recent years.
He said: “Peter is a huge football fan. He has had a tough time since those days at Leeds. But he has performed miracles here and I am sure he’s as pleased as punch to get to a Cup final.
“He wanted to take up another challenge and he couldn’t have done better than he has here. He took a lot of flak at Leeds which is a pity as he is a decent man.”

MILLER HAS TWO BOSSES TO IMPRESS

Liam Miller is hoping to catch the eye of both club manager Roy Keane and international boss Giovanni Trapattoni as he brings an eventful season to a close.
The 27-year-old Sunderland midfielder will hope he has done enough in Portugal this week to have forced his way into the Italian's plans for Saturday's friendly clash with Serbia at Croke Park.
However, he knows in the longer term he still has work to do to persuade compatriot Keane he has a role to play at Sunderland.
