8-1 på to siste.

NEWS STORY
YOUNGSTERS CRASH TO HEAVY DEFEAT
Paul Hassall at The Academy 21 March 2009
Liverpool under-18s slumped to a disappointing 3-1 defeat as Leeds United avenged their FA Youth Cup elimination at the Academy this afternoon.
The Reds were second best throughout a one-sided encounter and never looked capable of securing a league repeat of their 2-1 success at Elland Road in round three of the cup back in December.

Leeds started the brighter of the two sides and could have gone ahead as early as the seventh minute but Michael Whitwell made a mess of his 25 yarder after a clever break down the right.

The miss did little to unnerve the visitors and six minutes later they worked another superb opening with William Hatfield firing straight at a relieved Deale Chamberlain from the edge of the area.

Liverpool had yet to get going and were left breathing another sigh of relief on 20 minutes when skipper Andrew Milne came within a whisker of touching home Whitwell's teasing free-kick.

The visitors were clearly up for some revenge and when they did finally take the lead their joy was clear for all to see.

Another dangerous move from the right ended with the Reds defence only half clearing the ball to the edge of the area, allowing Sam Jones to surge forward and unleash a powerful drive into the bottom corner.

In truth, it was the least they deserved in a first-half belonged to Leeds. The home side struggled to create any opening of note and were lucky not to concede a penalty on 45 minutes when Conor Coady looked to have brought down Tom Elliott in the box.

The Reds needed to step up a gear after the interval but once again it was the away side who made the faster start, and they doubled their lead on 51 minutes.

A neat move down the left ended with Whitwell just inside the Reds' area and he made no mistake with a low shot that Chamberlain could only parry into the net.

If things looked bleak for Liverpool at this point, it got even worse two minutes later when Whitwell was on hand to steer home the third.

With the game all-but lost the Reds went on to enjoy their best spell of the whole contest and they came close to reducing the arrears through David Amoo's low shot.

Alex Cooper then struck the crossbar direct from a corner before Jack Robinson nodded in an 83rd minute consolation after Joe Kennedy had flicked on at the near post.

Liverpool under-18s: Deale Chamberlain, Andre Wisdom, Jack Robinson, Conor Coady, Joe Kennedy, Alex Cooper, David Amoo, Adam Pepper (John Flanaghan 55), Lauri Dalla Valle (Adam Dawson 78), Karl Klair, Alex Kacaniklic (Matthew McGiveron 75). Unused sub: Hakan

Det ser ut som om Grayson bygger selvtillitt gjenom hele klubben, bare se på reservene og U-18 lagenes resultater. Utrolig bar av juniorene å slå tilbake mot L'pool. De ble utspilt i FA Youth Cup.

Liverpool under-18s: Bouzanis, Wisdom, Buchtmann, Ayala, Kennedy, Irwin, Amoo (Ellison), Dalla Valle, Ince, Kacaniklic. Unused sub: Pourie, Chamberlain, Roberts, Metcalf

Nå i mars vinner vi 3-1 mot dette laget:

Liverpool’s babes take a spanking at the hands of Leeds

The senior side may be going from strength to strength, but Liverpool’s U18s found themselves on the wrong side of a heavy 3-1 defeat last night dished out by the Leeds academy.

Leeds always looked in control, taking the lead midway through the first half with a powerful low shot from Sam Jones. The Whites doubled their lead six minutes after the break capitalising on a goal created by route one tactics, a long punt down the field from the Leeds keeper was flicked on up to the forwards, where Michael Whitwell was on hand to fire past Liverpool keeper Chamberlain.

With their heads down, slack Reds’ defending was punished two minutes later, Michael Whitwell showing composure and accuracy to neatly create and slot away the killer third for Leeds, before Liverpool gave the scorecard a slightly better look of respectability as Jack Robinson nodded in a late consolation.

It wasn’t a game that the defenders and goalkeepers involved will look back upon fondly, but everyone else was treated to a terrific spectacle at Thorp Arch this morning as United’s U18s and their hosts Leeds shared eight goals in a feisty, thrilling encounter. The Reds took an early lead through Scott Wootton’s header but found themselves trailing 2-1 at the break as the home side took control, Will Hatfield (from the penalty spot) and Adam Watson finding the target.

Some deft substitutions from Paul McGuinness saw United turn the game on its head again early in the second half, Robbie Brady’s freekick drawing them level before Joshua King put the finishing touches to a great team move to put the Reds ahead. Some good fortune with the bounce of the ball saw the sides exchange goals, Hatfield first equalising for Leeds before Ryan Tunnicliffe got what he hoped would be the winner seven minutes from time. That wasn’t to be though, Sam Jones curling home a terrific free-kick three minutes later to earn his side a share of the points - a deserved outcome after a terrifically entertaining match.

Falkingham running away from goal brought down by keeper - superb pen lashed into top right hand corner by Hatfield.

Cross from Darville, Big T actually managed to knock it to the front of the goal, Whitwell muffed it, Hatfield knocked it in

Superb corner from Garbutt headed in by the new John Charles, Jones.

Superb 30 yard free kick by Jones.

At the final whistle Tunnicliffe was livid and had to be held back. I'm guessing one of ours must have punched/butted him.

Young City Out Class Dirty Leeds

MCFC U18s 3 - 1 LUFC U18s

A mainly U17 City side as only four player were above seventeen and one sixteen year old showed there class to a Leeds side that frequently left their foot in after the ball had gone; but were made to pay with the quality of good football by City. A brace of goals from Robbie Mak and a goal from Jack Redshaw as City's U18s remained unbeaten in their division and move eighteen points clear of second placed Manchester United.

It shows the real lack of quality in the other divisions when a team can lose fourteen times in a season and still be no lower than fifth in the respective division. A three minute spell midway through the first half killed the game off for Leeds as City raced into a two nil lead.

City's first goal game in the twenty sixth minute when City were camped inside the Leeds half Omar Elabdellaoui slipped a ball to Ahmad Benali who played a well weighted through ball for Mak to run on to as he rounded the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the far side of the goal from a reasonably tight angle.

Just over two minutes later and City scored their second when the ball came out to Jeremy Helan on the edge of the area and he picked out Chris Chantler making a run to his left into the box where he played the ball into his feet and Chris sent a low cross in that Jack Redshaw slid in and knocked the ball into the far corner of the goal.

City wrapped the game up in the fifty third minute when a completely solo and stunning effort from Robbie when he picked the ball up on the half way line and drove at the Leeds defence before unleashing an unstoppable looping shot over the Leeds goalkeeper and into the back of the goal.

Leeds grabbed a late consolation in stoppage time when they were able to bundle the ball over the line from a corner.

City have two league games remaining against Wolves(a) and Bolton(h) but with the Platt Lane pitches being dug up and City playing the league play-off game with Arsenal this Friday at Eastlands who knows if they will get both games in.

City: Clegg(GK), Smith, Chantler, Wabara, Carter(Capt.), Mitchell(Cieslewicz 19), Elabdellaoui, Benali, Redshaw, Mak(Grandison 70), Helan.

Subs: E Johansen, Frater, Kapsalopodas.

An U16s team filled with fourteen year olds drew one all on the other pitch at Platt Lane today.

Leeds were without 2nd years McCann and Baxendale and included two trialists in the starting line up besides Ian Snodins son Jordan.

Monty Gimple is a german born centre back and was player of the year for the FA Independent Schools in 2009 (Don't ask)

Leeds appeared to start with a 4-4-1-1 with Poleon up top and Payne behind him.

The first 20 mins were garbage with long balls punted up to the smallish Poleon, the Scunny centre backs must have thought Xmas had come early.

6 mins Poleon shot over

20 Poleon had a shot blocked, Turner's follow up shot was deflected into the net by POLEON 1-0

23 N.Turner shot wide

30 POLEON shot underneath the keeper 2-0

36 Snodin twists and turns past 4 players before crossing to Poleon who slashes into thin air trying to  turn and hit the ball

39 Snodin's run and shot hits a Scunny defenders hand, unlucky not to be given a penalty.

41 Cairns reacts quickly to get down low to his left to save at the foot of the post

45+1 Taylor has an excellent run down the left wing, crosses to the back post, Payne scoops the ball over the crossbar

47 Taylor's run down the left, bought down on the edge of the box, fre kick. Birbeck free kick curled too near the keeper, comfortable save.

48 Poleon slices a shot very wide

60 Cairns makes a good save

61 Poleon shot deflected for a corner

69 Dollery shot tipped over the bar by Scunny keeper

71 Payne shot hits the crossbar

73 Scare for Leeds as a Scunny shot fizzes over the bar

78 sub 7 Dollery replaced by 16 Byram

83 sub 11 Birbeck replaced by 17 Lenighan

86 POLEON'S persistance saw him get his hatrick, after nibbling away, chasing the ball and finally getting a shot underneath the keeper

90 Booker shot wide

90+2 Byram curled a shot over the bar

Leeds looked a better side when they played the ball on the floor.

Gimple looked composed on the ball and Jordan Snodin had a very good game in the middle of the park

Wonderkid that represents the future of Leeds United â€" Elliot Kebbie
Posted on Wednesday, 19th January 2011 by Steve Morris

Elliot Kebbie, 16, had impressed the visiting Manchester United scouts so much back in 2009 that Sir Alex Ferguson placed a bid of £1m, seeing it automatically rejected.

Since Ferguson’s scouting two year’s ago, a number of other top Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool, have began to track the teenager.

The midfielder’s pace has seen him draw comparisons with that of a young Theo Walcott, winning England’s 100m school sprint in just over 11 seconds.

So far he’s stuck with the lily-whites academy and if the Yorkshire-based club can swat the interest from Europe’s top teams, he could be the driving force behind Leeds United’s future success.
