Deano considers Leeds moveDEAN Windass today said he would consider a move to Leeds United should he fail to fight his way into the Hull City first team.
Windass has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Tigers, and has spoken of his frustrations at sitting on the sidelines.
And today the 39-year-old revealed he had been in discussions this week with Leeds manager Gary McAllister about a possible move to the League One side.
It followed a behind closed doors game on Monday in which the Tigers favourite was a scorer.
Windass said: "I'm still not getting a look-in for starting spot, which is fair enough when the team are doing so well.
"As the manager says, it's the players who pick the team.
"Once they're in possession of the shirt it's up to them to keep it, and I'm certainly not the only one who's getting frustrated on the bench.
"However, I'm still desperate to play and I turned out in a friendly on Monday and scored a goal. One of those watching was Leeds manager Gary McAllister who I spoke to both before and after the game.
"I want to make it clear that my priority is still to get back in the Hull team, but if Phil Brown tells me I can go, Leeds would definitely be a club I'd consider joining.
"I've known Gary for a long time and respect him both as a footballer and for the job he's doing at Elland Road.
"Bradford also made an enquiry about me last week, but I think they couldn't afford to pay Hull's wages.
"So I'm still here and still battling for my place which is what I've always said I will do until told otherwise."
Looking ahead to tomorrow night's clash with Chelsea, Windass believes City can add to their points tally in the Premier League.
Writing for his blog on ITV.com, Windass said: "I'm convinced Big Phil Scolari and his team will not be relishing their trip north.
"We know Chelsea have got world-class players but facing the likes of them is the reason we got into football in the first place.
"We'll be up for it and be right in their faces and I'm convinced we can take something out of the game. Let's face it, we've got nothing to lose.
"With the points we've already got this season, we're under no pressure against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United so we can go out there and have a real go."
