Ex-Toronto, Newcastle coach Carver keen on Peterborough job
Former Toronto FC coach John Carver is interested in the Peterborough United manager's post.
The Evening Chronicle says the former Newcastle United assistant manager and Toronto FC boss would be interested in taking the reins at London Road in the aftermath of Darren Ferguson’s departure.
Fergie Jnr was surprisingly shown the door at Posh on the back of their 3-1 defeat at St James’ Park â€" despite leading them to successive promotions from League Two to the Coca-Cola Championship.
However, Carver â€" who has been out of work since leaving the Canadian MLS outfit Toronto â€" is keen on getting back into management.

Sunderland close to January deal for Middlesbrough's Johnson
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is determined to land Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson in January.
Middlesbrough will cash in on Black Cats fan Johnson rather than risk losing the England Under-21 star for nothing in the summer, says The Sun.
Johnson, 22, who has hit nine goals this season, knows a swift return to the Premier League is his best hope of challenging for the full England squad.

Stoke’s Dickinson enjoying Barnsley spell
Stoke City defender Carl Dickinson admits he is thoroughly enjoying his loan stint with Barnsley.
The 22-year old has become a first team regular at Oakwell after crossing from Britannia Stadium in September and is loving the fact he is playing first team football at a club he feels comfortable at.
"I think I've settled in well. I needed the games. I was getting frustrated at Stoke because I wasn't getting in the first team like I had the previous season when we got promoted,” he told the Sheffield Star.
"I played nearly 30 games the season we moved up, but new players joined the squad and you find yourself down the pecking order.
"I'd love to play at the highest level, but right now I just want to play football and I'm really enjoying being at Barnsley.
"I want to show people that I'm a good player and, hopefully, I'm doing that right now."

Rose not ready to leave Spurs
England U21 star Danny Rose hopes to make a breakthrough at Tottenham.
The midfielder is reluctant to move away on-loan again and hopes a first team chance can be found by staying at White Hart Lane.
Rose told TalkSport: “I have to believe that there’s a chance for me at Tottenham, if not then there’s no point me being there.
"My short-term goal is to get my head down at Tottenham and try and squeeze my way through if not then maybe I’ve got to go out again and get some football somewhere else but I’d say for the next couple of months I’m going to work hard in showing my gaffer at Spurs that I’m good enough to be a part of his team.”

36 ROD WALLACE
1988-91, 161 apps, 56 goals

On October 22, 1988, his two brothers Danny and Ray joined him in the team in a match at The Dell against Sheffield Wednesday; the first time three brothers had played in the same team in English professional top-flight football since 1920. The three continued to play together for the remainder of the 1988-89 season, with Danny and Rod playing in attack alongside Alan Shearer and Matthew Le Tissier. While twin brother Danny was undoubtedly the star, Rod was an effective winger with a great goal return who was on his way to becoming a Saints legend - until Danny left and a disgruntled Rod went to Leeds United and helped the Yorkshire club to the old First Division title.
