replace injured Marques
Sam Sodje has joined Leeds United on loan and the Reading central defender could make his debut against MK Dons at Elland Road on Saturday.
With Rui Marques doubtful after picking up a hamstring injury at Crewe last week, Sodje, 28, could make his debut.
Meanwhile, captain Frazer Richardson has promised not to rock the boat if manager Simon Grayson keeps him waiting for a recall on recovery from injury.
The right back, who is Leeds’ longest serving player, is in contention for a return after being out since mid-January with thigh and calf injuries.
In his absence Leeds have won eight, lost three and drawn two matches, including a seven-match winning run at home.
Richardson, who has watched every home game during his absence and listened to the away matches on radio, admits: “The lads have been doing a great job so I wouldn’t expect to walk straight back into the team.
“The home form has been excellent in recent weeks.
“I believe it is important not to disturb a winning team. Simon has been getting good results from the team he has been playing so I am not one to say I should go straight back in.â€
Nor will Richardson complain if Grayson continues to give the captain’s armband to Richard Naylor.
He said: “Nails has been different class. He is a very strong character who we can all learn from, including myself. I am proud to be captain but I wouldn’t spit my dummy out if the manager kept him wearing the band.â€
Richardson praises Grayson for restoring the players’ self-belief since Leeds lost at MK Dons and parted company with Gary McAllister.
He added: “After the first few games you could see the confidence coming back to the likes of Robert Snodgrass and Andy Robinson.â€
Robinson and Andrew Hughes are also back in contention after injury.
