I have a great source who has confirmed Joel Ward and Green will be LUFC players by Wednesday this week.

Also said to be finalising a deal for Matt Mills too. Paddy Kenny WILL be joining along with possibilities of Clint Hill and Shaun Derry also joining on 12 month deals. Not bad signings to get us up to the PL.

Lonerghan will also be transfer listed once NW secures GK's such as Kenny and potentially Smithies

Hørte fra min kilde for 5 dager siden at Ward var klar.Siden Ward og Pearce er bestekompiser vile Ward til Leeds.

Ja, klart NW må være lojal mot sin arbeidsgiver, det står vel i arbeidsinstruksen hans også.

Når jeg ser på hvilke klubber han har vært manager for tidligere, så har han vel ikke vært bortskjemt med multimillion£ budsjetter tidligere heller.

Paul Green is being tipped to be a hit if he joins Leeds United â€" by the man who gave him his big break in professional football.

United boss Neil Warnock is keen to sign the 29-year-old, who recently turned down a new deal at Derby County and is out of contract at the end of next month â€" and available under the Bosman ruling.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder learned his trade under Dave Penney during Doncaster Rovers’ turbo-charged rise from the Football Conference up to the old Division Three just under a decade ago â€" and the ex-Rovers chief insists the Pontefract-born player would prove an excellent acquisition for United.

Green on stand-by for Euro 2012 after missing out on the 23-man squad, wants to resolve his future this week, with Middlesbrough and Ipswich also interested in capturing him.

Penney, a boyhood Leeds fan, said: “If you get a player like Paul Green available on a free transfer, then most clubs would be interested in the Championship.

“Paul’s a proper kid and a team player as well. He’s not one of those selfish footballers that seem to be flying about at the moment.

“He has played right-back, as he did this season and will play in any position he’s asked to.

“But for me, he’s best position is central midfield. He has got a goal in him, a good engine and can get from box to box.

“We got him as an apprentice at Doncaster after being released by Sheffield Wednesday, possibly because he was a little bit too small.

“But as we kept progressing, so did he and he was the only one who really stayed with us as we moved up the leagues.

“Obviously, Neil (Warnock) is going to change it around as he’s not been happy by what he’s had since Simon (Grayson) left. He’ll want to get his own team in and change it around â€" dramatically by the looks of it.

“Paul will always give 100 per cent, but he’s not a real tackler or someone who charges about kicking people.

“But he’s got plenty of energy and always gives his all.

“Paul’s also an international now and has had five years in the Championship and 10 international caps under his belt. I’d imagine a load of clubs will be interested in him.

“I think he’ll be a little bit disappointed he’s not involved in the Euros with Ireland. He obviously had an injury this season and didn’t get back to push his way into their squad. He could have put himself in the shop window even more there.”

The United boss is attempting to wrap up the signing of Portsmouth right-back Joel Ward in the wake of strong rival interest from Ipswich and Burnley, with all three reportedly having had bids accepted.

While United are in the box seat to sign Ward, 22, after recently holding talks, Portsmouth adminstrator Trevor Birch has said it’s by no means a “foregone conclusion” that he will head north and join close pal Jason Pearce at Elland Road, according to sources on the south coast.

The transfer of Ward is expected to go through shortly for a fee not far short of the £500,000 United paid Pompey for Pearce, with Leeds pitted in a three-way fight to land him.

Versatile Pompey star Greg Halford has also been linked with a move to Elland Road, along with Fratton Park team-mates Luke Varney and David Norris, a Leeds target last summer.

United have also showed an interest in Derby County’s Pontefract-born midfielder Paul Green, keen to resolve his future this week after rejecting a new contract at Pride Park.

Warnock said: “I’ll be glad this week if we get a couple of lads in. If we haven’t, I’ll be disappointed if I’m honest.

“I go away on the 25th and I want to try and get two or three in by then, if I can.

“There’s loads of speculation, but fortunately two or three of my targets haven’t been mentioned yet. I’d like to keep them all under wraps, ideally.

“I’ve spoken to quite a lot of agents over the last seven days. It’s just a matter of trying to seal deals really.”

While Ward is firmly on United’s radar, Halford has also emerged as a target, with Nottingham Forest and Birmingham also keen.

Ikke umulig det, men da gravde jo Grayson sin egen grav. Selv om legitime unnskyldninger kom så var det jo ingen som brydde seg om de. Da ble det i stedenfor "kvantitet fremfor kvalitet" og det endte med sparken.

Ser at noen nevner at det er feil av NW å ta ferie nå, siden han hadde fri fra han forlot QPR til han overtok Leeds.
Jeg tror det er bare bra å få ladet batteriene før en lang sesong. Det virker som om det har vært en intensiv periode nå, og nå er alle ligaene så godt som ferdigspilt, da reiser vel både spillere, managere og agenter på ferie. Hvor mye får han gjort
