Patel has tweeted a :-) 5 times before today. Each time has followed with good news....
1) signing Barkley
2) signing McDermott
3) signing Murphy and Harvey being sacked
4) McCormack extending his contract
5) Haigh consortium being announced
6) ??

:)

Ahhh.. Statistikk. Got's to love it!

Red Bull?
I scored 24 goals helping my side win promotion back to the Premier League aged just 22. Then in my first season in the top flight I had bagged an impressive 15 goals by the end of January. My form earned me an England call-up. Am I a £35m striker? No. I am Michael Ricketts, February 2002.

@APOPEY: Reuters reports that GFH has agreed a partial sale of its stake in Leeds United, the firm said in a statement on Wednesday #lufc

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/soccer/a/20769021/

DUBAI (Reuters) - Bahrain-based investment firm Gulf Finance House (GFH) has agreed a partial sale of its stake in English football club Leeds United, the firm said in a statement on Wednesday.

GFH said the sale was agreed with British investors, whose details the firm did not specify in a bourse statement. The investment firm did not provide details on the stake value or the size of the stake sold.

Leeds United Stake-Sale Plan Pushes Gulf Finance to 8-Month High

By Sarmad Khan Jan 15, 2014 10:26 AM GMT+0100

Gulf Finance House EC (GFH) climbed to the highest in almost eight months as the investment company signed an agreement with a group of British investors for a partial sale of its stake in soccer club Leeds United.

The shares gained 1.8 percent to 56 fils, the highest intraday level since May 28, at 12:22 p.m. in Kuwait, bringing the market value to 177.1 million dinars ($626 million). They soared 10 percent, the most since 2005, yesterday as the number of shares traded surged to more than twice the three-month daily average.

The Manama, Bahrain-based company that obtained creditor approval in May 2012 to restructure $110 million of debt said the investors are in the final stages of completing the stake sale, according to a statement today. The transaction requires approval from the English Football Association, said the company with interests from real estate to health care.

“The company is embarking on optimizing its balance sheet to increase its profitability,” Yazan Abdeen, the lead MENA fund manager at Jeddah-based Sedco Capital, said in response to questions from Bloomberg. “Deals like Leeds United should increase shareholder value.”

GFH took over Leeds, a three-time British Premier League champion, through its Dubai-based unit GFH Capital in 2012. The unit sold 10 percent of its holdings in the soccer club to another Bahrain-based financial institution, International Investment Bank, in March for an undisclosed amount.

How the company will increase profitability on its property portfolio and improve fee generation is yet to be seen, Abdeen said. GFH posted a third-quarter loss of $3.15 million.

The company’s Dubai shares dropped 1.4 percent after climbing 15 percent yesterday on record volumes of 820 million shares. The stock jumped 5.3 percent in Manama today.

Gary Cooper of LUST fikk snakke med David Haigh i dag:

LUST Update: Conversation with David Haigh

LUST Chairman, Gary Cooper, spoke this morning with David Haigh about the concerns many of our members have expressed to us about the time being taken to complete the current takeover process.

We have been contacted by a large number of fans who feel confused, frustrated and increasingly impatient as they wait for the takeover to be completed, and Gary made sure today that David fully understands the strength of feeling among fans who want to know exactly what is going on.

David said that he is fully aware of the concerns being expressed, and that in response he would be happy for us to tell our members that this conversation has taken place. He told Gary that money to complete the deal is in place, that the Football League have been very helpful, and that all that remains is "crossing a few 'Ts' and dotting a few 'Is.'"

David also said he would like to assure our members that Brian McDermott has funds available for players he wants, is able to deal in the transfer market without hindrance during the takeover, and that in effect it is 'business as usual' while completion is achieved.

Referring to the communication between GFH and the stock exchange that was widely reported this morning, David said he understands how confusing information coming from the Middle East can be but he wants to assure our members everything is on course.

Gary would like to thank David for taking the time to talk this morning, and for listening to the concerns expressed to us by our members.

Rare tider.

@PhilHayYEP: Strange and concerning story in the YEP today as it emerges that GFH officials in Bahrain blocked the Ashley Barnes transfer last week.

@PhilHayYEP: Story will be online soon. Appears that money was in place for £500k up-front fee but GFH refused to sign the transfer off. Not at all good

@PhilHayYEP: Common knowledge that Barnes was a main target of McDermott's. Sounds like he thought he had him.
