Kanskje en skuffelse for noen, men.....
LUFC McDermott - We will not be 'Dirty Leeds'
New Leeds United manager Brian McDermott says they will not be 'dirty Leeds` under his management.
McDermott has been speaking to the Daily Mail just a week into his tenure at Elland Road that has already seen him make a difference in the playing style.
Fans have already noticed a difference in the players approach with the ball being played out from the back and players being encouraged to pass the ball.
Leeds have had the tag 'dirty Leeds` since the Revie era and McDermott says they will not have that tag whilst he is in charge. "We won`t be dirty Leeds. I set up teams to play a proper way, with two quick wingers and playing on the break," McDermott told the Daily Mail .
"At Reading we had players who could hurt teams and I want the same at Leeds. This club is proper."
McDermott led Reading to the championship title last season after a run of twenty wins in twenty-four games.
He has made an impressive start at Eland Road. Leeds have beaten Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley in his first week in charge and they travel to Birmingham City today looking for a first away win since December in the league.
McDermott will also be hoping to see the side score in the first half. It is now 888 minutes since midfielder Paul Green was the last Leeds player to score in the first half of a league game at Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.
He will more importantly now be assessing his current squad ahead of the summer when he will hopefully bring in the players to have Leeds making a serious push for a return to the Premier League next season.
