LEEDS UNITED AGREED 12-MONTH DEAL FOR DEFENDER
Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has penned a deal that will keep him at Elland Road until the summer of 2018, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The 25-year-old has made 79 appearances for Garry Monk’s men, ever since joining from Chesterfield in 2014 on a three-year deal.
However, it has now been said that Cooper agreed a 12 month contract extension last season, which went unannounced.
Cooper has recently found himself down the pecking order behind the impressive defensive duo of Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson, however this contract extension must be a huge vote of confidence in Cooper.
The defender has made seven appearances thus far this term, as Leeds look to kick on from their 11th place position in the table, as they take on Derby County on Saturday afternoon, after a run of four wins in five league games.
