Leeds United defender Liam Cooper was one of the players tasked to keep Bolton Wanderers at bay this weekend, and while Neil Redfearn's side did concede via the penalty spot they can be pleased with their performance as a whole, keeping a side with a newly-introduced Emile Heskey at arms length and limiting them to just three shots on target.
Cooper is now very much a first choice centre-back for Leeds, his presence leading to Jason Pearce's sustained spell on the substitutes' bench. So how did the 23-year-old perform this weekend?
As you can see from the statistics below, Cooper made a very impressive 18 clearances in total (11 with his feet and seven with his head) while he also won five ground duels and four aerial battles.
But there were some poor stats that stood out, too, not least his failure to win a single tackle and his passing accuracy of just 47 per cent.
Passing Accuracy-Tackles Won-Duels Won-Aerials Won-Interceptions Won-Ground Clearances-Headed Clearance-Mins Played

That is something Redfearn will want to work on in the weeks ahead, with Leeds needing to keep the ball more if they want to climb back up the table.
Currently 21st in the Championship, Leeds have a lot of work to do, and when one of your first-choice defenders is giving the ball away more than half the times he is passing it, there is a problem.
That said, Leeds can take an impressive point and hopefully move forward, with Cooper likely to keep Pearce on the bench for a little longer yet.
