Leeds, meanwhile, have announced they have allowed academy youngsters Gavin Rothery and Chris Fisher to join Cheltenham Town on trial.
Both players featured as Cheltenham's reserves were beaten 4-1 by Bristol Rovers last night.
United youngster goes west in search of moveGavin Rothery in action for Leeds United in their pre-season game at Guiseley last summer.YOUNG Morley footballer Gavin Rothery looks set to leave Leeds United this summer after being given permission to link up with League One side Cheltenham Town.
The former England youth international midfielder has found his path to a first team spot blocked this season with so many senior midfielders on the books of the Elland Road club.
He signed a one-year contract last summer and was a regular in the reserve team for the first half of the season, playing 10 games and scoring three goals, but no senior call-ups have been forthcoming and he has not featured in a single game since Gary McAllister took over as manager from Dennis Wise.
Rothery has been allowed to play for Cheltenham reserves on a trial basis and took the chance to impress in a game against Bristol Rovers' second string last week when he was also joined by another Morley youngster in left back Chris Fisher who is another former Morley High School pupil.
The duo were part of a Town team containing four trialists and they were watched by the first team manager Keith Downing.
He said: "Gavin Rothery was the pick of the four, showing a lot of energy and the left back Fisher did ok and he has a nice left foot.
"It was tough, because we threw them all together in a young side against a strong Bristol Rovers team.
"I told them at half-time to go and express themselves in the second half and show what they are capable of doing.
"I will have a think about it and make a judgement, but it's difficult to come in for one game against a side like that.
Downing confirmed he will be giving Rothery a second outing for the reserves with a game coming up this week at home to Swindon
