Evans nevnte at han gjerne ville ha inn tp til tre nye spillere også. Gudene vet åssen han skal få de. Cellino har ikke lov til å drifte klubben, og Evans er historie 1 januar

Må gi fyren en sjans. Det er det eneste han ber om selv også. Virker som en bra fyr utifrå intervjuene i dag. Jeg syntes at det var ille under Uwe og ønsker Evans lykke til i jobben. Minner meg om en engelsk versjon av Tom Nordlie, i utgangspunktet nok til å ikke like fyren...men på kort sikt kan resultatene komme. En sånn type kan bruke seg opp fort i en spillergruppe. Vi må vinne kamper, og ingen vil vinne sterkere enn meg sier Evans selv. Samtidig snakket han om å hente inn 2 stk, håper han har sett noen kamper og styrker med en stopper og sentralmidtbane. Han har 100% ansvar for laguttak...så får vi se hvor lenge det varer. Jeg er av en aller annen merkelig grunn optimist!

Jeg var ringside på lørdag og så på Uwe spille en feig "bortetaktikk" på hjemmebane etter at vi ikke hadde vunnet på 10 kamper på ER. Det var dråpen for meg!!

Nå skal jeg over å se neste hjemmekamp og se på Leeds United - Blackburn og jeg er helt sikker på at det blir noe annet, jeg kan se for meg trøkk, vinger som truer/pumper ballen inn og to spisser som er i boksen sammen med midtbanespillere når ballen lander i feltet.

Jeg har null problem med Steve Evans, går det dårlig så er jo han snart borte også! Kanskje han er gal nok til å takle trøkket på ER, og det å være manager i Leeds United?

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Steve Evans as our new head coach.

The former Rotherham United boss has penned a rolling contract until June 30 at Elland Road after taking training for the first time on Monday morning.

Evans will be assisted in the dugout by former Swansea City midfielder Paul Raynor, who he has coached alongside throughout his managerial career.

“I’m honoured and proud, but the supporters just want to see what happens on the pitch,” Evans said.

“The first thing we need to do is win some points and win some football matches.

“We’ve got two tough games in the next six days. I know it’s seven months since we won at home and that is something we need to get off our back.

“But, more importantly, we’ve now got two away games and that is important in isolation. The first thing that matters is at Fulham.

“All I can ask the Leeds United supporters to do is to give me the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps I wouldn’t be the chosen manager for many Leeds United fans - I had butterflies in my stomach driving into Thorp Arch this morning.

“I can understand why they may think that, but the only thing that matters to me is what happens on the grass.

“As I proved at Rotherham and as I proved at Crawley, if I win football matches then people will embrace me. It’s always about winning football matches.”

Evans arrives at Leeds less than a month on from his New York Stadium departure, having spent three successful years with the Millers.

He guided our Yorkshire rivals from League Two to the Championship after earning a strong reputation in management during spells at Boston United and Crawley Town.

A striker during his playing days, Evans began his career in the youth team at Bolton before heading to Scottish side Clyde.

His seven-year playing career took in stints at Albion Rovers, Ayr United, Hamilton Academical and St Johnstone, before he was forced to hang up his boots aged just 24 due to a knee ligament injury.

Evans’ managerial career began at non-league outfit Stamford, who he helped to consecutive  United Counties League Premier Division titles, before moving to Boston in 1998.

He guided the Pilgrims into the Football League from the Southern League Premier Division during two spells at the club, before taking over at Crawley in 2007.

There he repeated his feats of reaching the Football League after guiding Crawley to back-to-back promotions during his five-year stay at Broadfield Stadium.

Evans then took the reins at Rotherham in April 2012 and achieved promotion from League Two in his first full season at the club. He led them to victory at Wembley in the League One play-off final the following year and was able to consolidate Rotherham’s Championship status last season.

Evans has signed a one month rolling contract until June and will be joined by new Whites assistant manager Paul Raynor whom the Glaswegian has worked with throughout his career.

The Scot’s appointment was made public on Monday morning but Evans knew he would be United’s next head coach at the weekend after meting with Cellino who was then sensationally banned again by the Football League on Monday afternoon.

Cellino has been banned for the tax evasion conviction imposed on him in June and has October 28 to appeal.

But the Italian has already appointed his new head coach and Evans said: “I was awake at four o’clock this morning waiting to drive to Thorp Arch. Nerves, excitement, Christmas Eve. It’s exciting and I was quite emotional in a way last night. I get emotional, as you know.

“I don’t think there will be many managers outside the Barclays Premier League that would get a call at the weekend to say ‘would you like to be manager at Leeds United’ that wouldn’t pinch themselves when they wake up.


“It’s a massive task and there’s been some great managers that have not been able to get them to win football matches. What an opportunity I’ve been given. I just need to grab it.”

Evans now has just two days until his first game in charge at Leeds who visit Fulham on Wednesday, three days before travelling to a Bolton Wanderers side where the Scot actually began his career as a teenager.

United, who are 18th and just three points above the dropzone, then host Blackburn Rovers a week on Thursday looking to register their first win at Elland Road in nearly eight months.

The 11 games that United have gone without winning at home is already a club record.

Asked what Cellino had instructed of him, Evans said simply: “I have to win matches - that’s what he said.

“My target is to try and get a point or three off Fulham on Wednesday, that’s the first objective. Then Bolton.

“Then we talk about a home fixture and not winning a home fixture for seven months which is not acceptable at any club.

“My initial job is to rejuvenate one or two of these lads here and give them the confidence back they had playing under Neil Redfearn and let’s see if we can go to Fulham and first and foremost put in a performance.

“A performance normally brings you results.”

Steve Evans hopes to inject "a little bit more passion and hunger" into the squad after being appointed as the club’s new head coach.

Evans, having taken charge of training for the first time on Monday morning, will officially be unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon which will be shown live on LUTV.

The first task facing the former Rotherham boss is halting United’s run of three consecutive defeats, starting with a trip to Fulham on Wednesday night.

And Evans, who feels he is inheriting a team of “really talented players” at Elland Road, is keen to implement his methods from the off and see a response on the pitch.

“It’s difficult, but every manager has their own way of playing and different patterns of play,” he said.

“We’d like this Leeds United team to play with a little bit more intensity - there are some really talented players in that dressing room.

“We want to see a little bit more passion and hunger shown. That’s easy to talk about but harder to deliver on the pitch.

“Largely, our success as a management team over the last few years has come from players who have shown that passion and that desire to become very good players.

“We’ve already got very good players here when you look at the squad and break it down.

“The wonderful thing is, thanks to people like Neil Redfearn, there are some really talented youngsters.

“But their confidence is pretty low at the minute and that comes from not winning. It comes from perhaps not being picked in the side.

“As you’d expect me to say as a coach coming in, everyone here gets a clean slate and everyone gets a chance.

“There are some very talented boys here. We just want to see a little bit more aggression – channelled aggression – in our play and a little bit more passion.

“As a wee boy growing up, when Leeds United came to Glasgow Celtic they always played with wonderful passion. We have to create that here.”

Asked about his preferred formation, Evans added: “In an ideal world we’d love to play 4-4-2 with two strikers up the pitch and two wide players who can get up and down the pitch.

“We’d like a sitting midfield player and we’d like somebody who goes and joins the strikers.

“Today, with the amount of analysis and research teams do, you have to be able to vary that up.

“Traditionally I’ve played 4-4-2 but at times we’ll have to change and chop that. The system will be dictated by the playing staff.

“Certainly for two or three games we’re going to have to pick our thoughts on those players and put a system into place for Fulham, firstly, and then Bolton.

“We’ll then see where that takes us and where our thoughts are.”

Selvsagt får han en sjanse.

Det er ikke Steve Evans som er problemet i Leeds. Lovnader om å få styre laget og last say og slikt må man derimot ta med en sekk med salt. Det samme sa Rösler. Han blir helt sikkert lovet det, men selv om Cellino er bannet igjen er det bare en telefon som skal til før laget ser annerledes ut enn hva den sombrerokledte hadde sett for seg.

Gamle uttalelser i Leeds' disfavør er ingenting å bry seg om. Han frir til Rotherhamfansen på det tidspunktet. Ikke noe annet enn hva vi selv hadde likt hadde det vært omvendt.

Hva har Celliono tenkt. ? Evans står for en mer direkte og engelsk spillestil. Kanskje det må til i ch.ship, der Roslers possesion football ikke ga suksess. Jeg har en følelse av at det ble for mye system , analyse og ballbesittelse med Rosler. To seiere på 10 kamper er jo faktisk ikke bra.  Og null hjemmeseire når det snart skrives novemeber!   Evans er en god gammeldags manager som får spillere til å gi 110% i 95 minutter. Rotherham var en overaskelse i fjor.  Men er Leeds for stor for Evans også det er bek'ymringsfullt at  Cellino bommer med trenere gang på gang

Det var vel siste kampen i serien sist sesong, da Leeds hadde besøk av Rotherham. Evans lovet å stille i kortbukse og sombrero hvis Rotherham var på sikker plass før Leeds kampen. Han er i alle fall sporty og holder det han lover....men ....KLOVN!

Uansett, vi er stuck med ham (en liten stund i alle fall)....så han får en sjanse. Er (i likhet med mange andre) litt negativ i utgangspunktet, men men....håpet må vi jo ha....

Problemet er jo nå at ingen managere med et godt rykte vil ha Leeds.
