SWANS CLOSING IN ON TITLE

Jason Scotland scored the only goal of the game to help Swansea claim a 1-0 win over Huddersfield and take a step closer to the Coca-Cola League One title.
The Trinidad and Tobago international turned in Ferrie Bodde's corner from close range on the stroke of half-time to give Roberto Martinez's side victory at the Galpharm Stadium, which extended their lead to 14 points.
Huddersfield's misery was compounded by the late dismissal of former Wales defender Robert Page for a second-bookable offence in the 82nd minute, while Scotland was stretchered off in added time with an ankle injury.
Doncaster midfielder James Coppinger netted in the second minute to give his side a 1-0 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Tranmere at Prenton Park.
The result means Sean O'Driscoll's side leapfrogged Carlisle and Nottingham Forest, who meet at the City Ground on Monday night, into the second automatic promotion place.
Stefan Moore scored in the fourth minute to keep Walsall's play-off hopes on track with a 1-0 win over Luton, who are now 11 points adrift of the safety zone in 23rd place.
Tresor Kandol kept Leeds' hopes of making the play-offs alive with a 25th-minute winner at Swindon.
But Leyton Orient's play-off bid took a hit after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Brighton. Jabo Ibehre's 80th-minute strike looked like it had given Orient the points but Nicky Forster's penalty in injury-time handed his side a share of the spoils.
Crewe remained in the relegation zone despite a battling 0-0 draw at Northampton.
The Railwaymen are separated only on goal difference from Gillingham, who were held to goalless draw by a Yeovil side reduced to 10 men when Stephen Maher was sent off.
Millwall are only a point above the drop-zone after Craig Disley scored in second-half injury-time to give FA Cup quarter-finalists Bristol Rovers a 1-0 win at the Memorial Stadium.
Sam Vokes (6, 45) grabbed a brace to help Bournemouth clinch a 2-0 win over Hartlepool but the Cherries are still 11 points short of the safety mark.
Bottom side Port Vale suffered their 10th home defeat of the season as they were thrashed 3-0 by Oldham. Jordan Robertson (23), Neal Eardley (78) and Matthew Wolfenden (90) were all on the scoresheet for the visitors.

berlin

Sluttresultat i kveld: Forest - Carlisle  0 - 1

So-called Leedsfans, so-called Leedsfans, so-called Leedsfans - We are here....

League One preview: Swans looking to extend League One lead

Swansea can move a step closer to the Championship against Millwall while Doncaster and Carlisle are locked in a battle for second.
Roberto Martinez's Swans are in blistering form and can move a whopping 14 points clear over Doncaster with success over lowly Millwall on Friday.
The battle for second is fierce with Carlisle and Doncaster both securing 1-0 wins away from home this week, ensuring the likes of Nottingham Forest, Walsall and Tranmere remain slightly adrift of the pace-setters.
Carlisle have won their last four league outings and you would not bet against them maintaining their imperious home record against Brighton, who have a massive round trip on their hands.
Walsall, Tranmere and Forest all have important games this weekend as they take on Northampton, Oldham and Crewe on Saturday.
Southend, Leeds and Leyton Orient will be looking to bolster their play-off hopes against Luton, Bournemouth and Huddersfield respectively.
Port Vale are running out of games to save themselves and they travel to high-flying Doncaster.
Cheltenham will be hoping to pull away from the relegation zone against struggling Yeovil. Hartlepool entertain relegation-threatened Gillingham at Victoria Park.
With Bristol Rovers in FA Cup quarter-final action against West Brom their scheduled League One match at home with Swindon Town has been postponed.

Leeds seal the points after Kilkenny's goal.

ROVERS MAINTAIN PROMOTION CHARGE

Mark McCammon and Paul Heffernan grabbed a goal apiece to help Doncaster to a 2-1 win over Port Vale which kept them in the automatic promotion places in Coca-Cola League One.
Heffernan (11) had opened the scoring for Rovers and striker partner McCammon doubled the advantage eight minutes later.
Bottom side Vale pulled a goal back in the 34th minute through midfielder Danny Whitaker but, despite late pressure, were unable to find an equaliser.
Carlisle remain a point behind Rovers after they claimed a 2-0 win over Brighton at Brunton Park with goals from Danny Graham (35) and Danny Livesey (59).
Nottingham Forest are now seven points behind the Cumbrians after they were held to a 0-0 draw at struggling Crewe.
Adebayo Akinfenwa grabbed a brace (8, 71) to give Northampton a 2-0 win over play-off hopefuls Walsall.
Tranmere slipped out of the play-off zone after they suffered a 3-1 defeat at Oldham.
Neal Eardley converted a 42nd-minute penalty after Ian Goodison brought down Lewis Alessandra inside the area.
Chris Taylor added a second on the strike of half-time before Rovers substitute Mike Jones (70) pulled a goal back but Alessandra made the points safe in the 76th minute.
Southend climbed into the play-off zone after a 2-0 win over second-bottom Luton, thanks to goals from Nick Bailey (37) and James Walker in injury-time.
Bradley Johnson (11) and Neil Kilkenny (63) gave Leeds a 2-0 victory over struggling Bournemouth to keep their play-off bid alive.
Fellow hopefuls Leyton Orient suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Huddersfield after Luke Beckett's 75th-minute winner.
Gillingham fell into the relegation places after they were thrashed 4-0 at Hartlepool.
Andy Monkhouse (21), Joel Porter (26), Sam Collins (74) and Jamie McCunnie (90) all found the net for the home side, while Adam Miller missed a 69th-minute penalty for the Gills.
Andy Kirk (73) struck the decisive goal to give Yeovil a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Cheltenham at Huish Park.
Robins striker Steve Brooker (64) had earlier equalised a ninth minute own-goal from Alan Wright.

League One midweek preview: Promotion-chasing Carlisle and Doncaster take on struggling sides

Carlisle will be looking for a fifth win in a row when they welcome struggling Luton to Brunton Park.
The Cumbrians sit on the fringes of the automatic promotion places and will keen to break back into the top two.
Second place Doncaster look unlikely to let them through though as they play host to a Gillingham side who are currently languishing at the wrong end of the table.
League leaders Swansea take on play-off chasing Tranmere at the Liberty Stadium, while Nottingham Forest face a tough trip to in-form Southend.
Walsall have begun to falter of late, but will fancy their chances of picking up a vital win against poor travellers Brighton.
Leeds will be hoping that their recent resurgence in results will continue at home to Cheltenham, while Oldham could move closer to the top six with victory against Bournemouth at Boundary Park.
Hartlepool face Huddersfield and Leyton Orient tackle Swindon in two battles between mid-table sides who are looking to become upwardly mobile.
Finally, Tuesday also sees Yeovil play host to Millwall and rock-bottom Port Vale travel to fellow strugglers Crewe.

SWANS SLIP AGAIN AS PACK CLOSES

Coca-Cola League One leaders Swansea were pegged back by Chris Greenacre's injury-time equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Tranmere.

Alan Tate (43) fired home from a corner to put the Welsh side ahead at Liberty Stadium but Greenacre slid in to hand Rovers a point.

Doncaster stay second after a 2-1 home win over struggling Gillingham.
James Coppinger slid home in the fourth minute and a Paul Heffernan penalty (48) appeared to have sealed the win before Andrew Crofts (56) tapped in for what turned out to be a consolation for the Kent side.
Third-placed Carlisle are seven points clear of the chasing pack thanks to a 2-1 win over Luton at Brunton Park.
Captain Danny Livesey (21) volleyed the Cumbrians ahead, Peter Murphy (29) added a second and David Bell's 51st-minute goal for the Hatters proved to be in vain.
Hal Robson-Kanu (20) put Southend ahead against Nottingham Forest at Roots Hall before Matt Thornhill (65) levelled for a point which keeps both teams in the play-off places.
Anthony Gerrard (29) hit the opener for Walsall but then scored an own goal with 10 minutes left to condemn his side to defeat against Brighton after Nicky Forster's equaliser (34).
Leeds slipped to a poor 2-1 defeat to Cheltenham at Elland Road as goals from David Bird (38) and Alex Russell (63) rendered Anthony Elding's effort with five minutes remaining meaningless.
Port Vale stay bottom despite a 2-0 win at Crewe courtesy of a Paul Harsley penalty (56) and Luke Rodgers' finish (81).
Neal Eardley scored two penalties (24 and 80) to give Oldham a 2-0 win over Bournemouth, and Bas Savage (70) handed Millwall a 1-0 win at Yeovil.
Sam Collins (30) and Michael Mackay (50) gave Hartlepool a 2-1 home win over Huddersfield, Nathan Clarke's header (64) a consolation.
Adam Boyd's double (51 pen and 55) helped Leyton Orient come back from Alton Thelwell's 20th-minute own goal to beat Swindon 2-1 at Brisbane Road.

COBBLERS SHOCK SWANS

Northampton striker Poul Hubertz struck twice to help his side to a 4-2 win over Coca-Cola League One leaders Swansea who slipped to their second defeat in three games.
The powerful Danish forward opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Alan Tate's own-goal six minutes later.
Hubertz made it 3-0 when he converted a 23rd-minute penalty following Ferrie Bodde's foul on Ryan Gilligan inside the penalty area.
Swansea's Jason Scotland (29, 83) scored either side of Danny Jackman's 52nd-minute strike to complete the scoring which left the Cobblers two points outside the play-off zone.
Second-placed Doncaster were unable to take advantage of the defeat to Roberto Martinez's side after they suffered a 1-0 loss at Brighton.
Nicky Forster was brought down by Brian Stock in the 57th minute and although his penalty was saved by Rovers goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, the striker rammed home the rebound.
Carlisle were only able to close the gap on the top two by a point after they drew 2-2 at Swindon.
Marc Bridge-Wilkinson (54) had given the Cumbrians the lead but Simon Cox equalised for Town seven minutes later.
Blair Sturrock (80) looked like he had given the Robins the win but Peter Murphy netted in the 86th minute to give his side a share of the spoils.
Fourth-placed Nottingham Forest were held to a 1-1 draw by Walsall at the City Ground after Kelvin Wilson put through his own net in the 54th minute to cancel out Brett Ormerod's opener five minutes earlier.
Alan McCormack scored in the third minute of injury time to give Southend a 2-1 victory at Huddersfield.
Hal Robson-Kanu (40) had put the Shrimpers ahead but veteran Terriers striker Andy Booth (73) equalised before McCormack's winner.
Tranmere remain outside the play-off places on goal difference after they claimed a 3-1 win over a Hartlepool side who had Jamie McCunnie sent off at Prenton Park.
Chris Greenacre (36) and Shane Sherriff (90) struck either side of a Ryan Nelson own-goal for the Wirral side.
Veteran Ritchie Humphreys netted in the 71st minute for Pools but Tom Craddock squandered an opportunity to reduce to deficit when he missed a penalty seven minutes later.
Leyton Orient are also in the play-off mix after their 1-0 away win over Millwall thanks to Wayne Gray's 50th-minute goal while Marc Laird was sent off for the home side.
Luke Rodgers scored in the dying seconds as bottom-side Port Vale dented Leeds' play-off bid with a 3-3 draw.
Rui Marques (39) and a brace from Dougie Freedman (41, 86) was cancelled out by 39th-minute penalty from Paul Harsley and a goal apiece for Danny Whitaker and Rodgers.

Crewe ran out 3-0 winners over Gillingham in a relegation scrap at Priestfield thanks to goals from Tom Pope (9), Nicky Maynard (50) and Dean Morgan (76) while Kevin Maher was sent off for the home side in the 57th minute.
Steve Brooker (80) gave struggling Cheltenham a valuable win over Bristol Rovers while Danny Hollands (9) and transfer target Sam Vokes (32) helped Bournemouth claim a 2-0 win over Yeovil.
Luton remain 12 points short of the safety zone despite a 3-0 win over 10-man Oldham at Kenilworth Road.
Ryan Charles (20) and Lewis Emanuel (35) scored either side of Matthew Spring's 33rd minute penalty while Reuben Hazell was sent off for the visitors.

League One round-up: Cumbrians up to second; Gills boost survival bid

Carlisle climbed back into the automatic promotion places as they cruised to victory at Leyton Orient.
Gillingham claimed three crucial points in their battle against relegation with victory over fellow strugglers Bournemouth while Brighton moved to within a point of the play-off zone by defeating Swindon.
Crewe claimed three vital points at home to Hartlepool and Huddersfield edged a five-goal thriller with Bristol Rovers.
Luton were forced to settle for a point at home to Cheltenham with the points also shared between Oldham and Millwall, while Leeds defeated Walsall in the evening kick-off.

Brighton 2 Swindon 1Nicky Forster's brace helped Brighton come from behind to defeat Swindon and move to within a point of the play-off places. The Robins took a shock lead in the eighth minute, but Forster lifted spirits at the Withdean Stadium with a swift equaliser. And the striker was on hand once again in the 66th minute to beat Peter Brezovan and secure all three points.

Bristol Rovers 2 Huddersfield 3
Michael Collins struck two minutes from time as Huddersfield twice came from behind to claim all three points at Bristol Rovers. James Berrett (39) equalised for the Terriers after Josh Klein-Davies' opener for Rovers. Chris Lines (49) restored the home side's advantage only for Chris Brandon (70) to level and Collins to snatch the points at the death.

Crewe 3 Hartlepool 1
Crewe claimed three vital points in their battle to stay out of the League One drop zone with Nicky Maynard bagging a brace against Hartlepool. The striker opened the scoring in the 20th minute and he was on target to beat goalkeeper Aaron Lee-Barrett for a second time 10 minutes later. Joel Porter pulled one back for Pools nine minutes from time but Tom Pope (85) restored Crewe's two-goal cushion.

Gillingham 2 Bournemouth 1
Gillingham snapped their four-game losing run to boost their hopes of avoiding the drop and push Bournemouth closer to relegation. The home side took the lead through Andrew Crofts with just nine minutes on the clock and doubled their advantage before the half-hour mark through Simeon Jackson. Jo-Osei Kuffour gave the Cherries hope as he hit back almost immediately, but the visitors were unable to fashion an equaliser and are now 14 points away from safety.

Leeds 2 Walsall 0
Jermaine Beckford's brace boosted Leeds' play-off hopes as they climbed to within two points of sixth place. The striker was on target to give the home side a deserved lead in the 29th minute before making sure of an important three points for Gary McAllister's side 10 minutes from the end.

Leyton Orient 0 Carlisle 3
Carlisle climbed back into the automatic promotion places with a comfortable victory over 10-man Leyton Orient. Former Middlesbrough striker Danny Graham headed home the opener in blizzard conditions in the 17th minute, with David Raven adding a second just after the half-hour mark. The O's were then reduced to 10 when John Melligan was shown a straight red card for his challenge on goalscorer Raven. Grant Smith put the result beyond any doubt four minutes into the second period with a left-foot shot from 25 yards out.

Luton 1 Cheltenham 1
Steven Gillespie claimed a late equaliser for Cheltenham to edge them closer to safety and push Luton closer to the drop. Sam Parkin put the Hatters, who are now 15 points adrift, in front in the 24th minute. But Gillespie struck in the 81st minute to restore parity.

Oldham 1 Millwall 1
Oldham's fading play-off hopes suffered another setback as they were forced to come from behind to claim a point against Millwall. Bas Savage broke the deadlock in the 76th minute only for Leon Constantine to level matters just three minutes later.

CARLISLE TIGHTEN GRIP ON SECOND

Goals from Danny Livesey and Marc Bridge-Wilkinson gave Carlisle a 2-0 win over Northampton which helped consolidate their position in the second Coca-Cola League One automatic promotion place.
Livesey put the Cumbrians ahead five minutes after the break at Brunton Park when he headed Simon Hackney's corner past goalkeeper Mark Bunn from close range.
Bridge-Wilkinson then made the points safe six minutes from time when he latched on to Danny Graham's pass and finished well from just inside the penalty area.
Third-placed Doncaster's 1-1 draw with Oldham meant that Carlisle now have a five-point cushion on their promotion rivals.
Doncaster had been 1-0 up after Paul Heffernan scored in the 37th minute with a clever finish from just inside the penalty area.
But Oldham equalised seven minutes after half-time when Jason Jarrett found space on the edge of the area and directed his shot into the bottom-left corner of the net.
Nottingham Forest's chances of promotion are now likely to be through the play-offs after they were held to a 0-0 draw at the City Ground by Brighton.
The result left Forest 11 points behind Carlisle while Brighton move into the play-off zone at the expense of Tranmere who suffered a 2-1 defeat to relegation candidates Bournemouth.
The Wirral side got off to the worse possible start when defender Ian Goodison put through his own net after just 38 seconds of the match.
Cherries striker Jo Kuffour doubled his side's advantage with a neat close-range finish. Antony Kay pulled one back for Ronnie Moore's side three minutes from time but it was too little too late for Rovers.
Simon Francis' superb long-range strike in the 18th minute gave Southend a 1-0 win over Swindon to keep his side in the play-off places.
At the bottom end of the table Gillingham's hopes of survival were dealt a massive blow after they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Port Vale.
Marc Richards scrambled home Vale's opening goal from a corner in the 19th minute before the Gills were handed an opportunity to equalise after George Pilkington fouled Simeon Jackson inside the penalty area.
Jackson took the resulting spot-kick but goalkeeper Joe Anyon guessed correctly and saved. Vale midfielder Danny Whitaker rubbed salt in the wound when he smashed home his side's second from 25 yards in the 53rd minute.
The visitors pulled one back through Leroy Griffiths in the 78th minute but were unable to find an equaliser.
Paul Connor (47) gave Cheltenham a 1-0 win over Leyton Orient which moved them eight points clear of the drop zone.
Ian Roper scored in the last minute of injury time to give Walsall a point against Crewe who had broken the deadlock in the 61st minute with a 20-yard strike from Nicky Maynard.
Millwall moved a point closer to safety after a 0-0 draw with struggling Luton at the Den while goals from James Brown (28) and Joel Porter (67) gave Hartlepool a 2-0 home win over Yeovil.

League One weekend preview: Will Swansea's recent slump continue in the North East?

League leaders Swansea face a tricky trip to Hartlepool, while second place Carlisle face Gillingham.
The Swans have seen their title bid falter of late and could be in for more misery at Victoria Park.
Meanwhile, Carlisle will fancy their chances of picking up another three points away at the struggling Gills and may yet be able to snatch an unlikely league crown.
Third face fourth at the Keepmoat Stadium on Friday night as Doncaster and Nottingham Forest look to get their promotion bids back on track, while struggling Swindon travel to Tranmere.
Elland Road will play host to a battle between two play-off chasing sides on Saturday when Leeds face Brighton, while Southend take on Walsall in a similar battle at Roots Hall.
Oldham and Huddersfield may have left it too late to mount a bid for a top-six finish but should play out a lively encounter at Boundary Park.
Cheltenham will be keen to build on their recent resurgence in form when they face Northampton, while Crewe go to Luton for a clash between two sides battling away at the wrong end of the table.
There will be a West Country derby at Huish Park as Yeovil welcome Bristol Rovers, and two match-ups involving relegation-threatened sides as Bournemouth take on Millwall at the Fitness First Stadium and rock-bottom Port Vale face Leyton Orient.

Scotland dusted himself down to take the resulting spot-kick and calmly placed the ball past Lee-Barrett.
Pratley then sealed the points with an 18-yard strike in the 73rd minute which extends Roberto Martinez's side lead over second-placed Carlisle.
The Cumbrians are now seven points behind Swansea after they were held to a 0-0 draw at Priestfield by struggling Gillingham.

Oldham's hopes were given a boost after they thrashed Huddersfield 4-1 at Boundary Park.

Stadium i London.

8/4
Carlisle â€" Swansea
Southend - Brighton

12/4
Leeds â€" Carlisle
Tranmere - Forest

19/4
