----------------Keeper--------------

Frazer - - - Heath - - - Lubomir - - - Elliot

Carole - - - Douglas - - - Kishesev - - - Blake

- - - - - - Cresswell - - -Healy - - - -

Benk: Foxe, Howson, Rose, Moore, Kandole :-) [:D][:D]

                             Ankergren

Richardson--------Michalik--------Heath---------Kishishev

Carole------------Douglas(k)------Howson--------Blake

                  Cresswell-------Healy

Innbyttere: Stack,Flo(?)/Rose,T.Elliot,Marques,Moore

Foran aims to send Leeds closer to the drop
Southend striker Richie Foran admits Leeds have huge support in his native Ireland but that will not stop him looking to help send them down to League One today.
Dennis Wise's team face a one of the biggest games in the club's history against their fellow relegation strugglers at Roots Hall. Defeat for the Yorkshire side would leave them six-points off safety with just seven matches left and closer to the drop into the third tier of of English football for the first time in their history.
Foran says his friends back home still worship Leeds from the days when David O'Leary helped them reach the Champions League semi-finals in 2001.
Although the former Motherwell man cannot believe he is fighting it out with them for Championship survival, he insists he will have no respect for reputations.
He said: "A lot of my friends back home are big Leeds fans, and I remember them going over to watch them play in the Premiership a couple of years ago.
"They're a big team in Ireland, so it is strange to be fighting with them to avoid relegation. But I won't care who I'm playing against, we just have to get the three points.
"I'm sure I'll get a few dodgy text messages before the game''

Douglas optimism for Leeds challenge
Southend United v Leeds United

AMID the disappointment of Leeds United letting a rare lead slip to only claim a point from the trip to Leicester City in midweek, a couple of plusses were largely overlooked.
First, the 1-1 draw with the Foxes meant that Leeds had, for the first time since the opening week of the season, managed to emerge unbeaten from back-to-back games in the Championship.
It does not sound much of an achievement, but in a season when United have largely careered from one morale-sapping defeat to another then the slightest of improvements is cause for celebration at Elland Road.
The second plus, as pointed out to the Yorkshire Post by captain Jonathan Douglas, is that earlier in the season Leeds would more than likely have gone on to lose a game such as the one at the Walkers Stadium.
However, despite woeful defending allowing Iain Hume to cancel out Robbie Blake's opener inside a minute and Leicester going on to create the majority of chances in the second half, United held out for a point.
Ahead of today's relegation showdown with Southend United, Douglas said: "I thought we performed well at Leicester and deserved to score the first goal (through Blake), only to then concede straight away.
"But after that we battled well. We had to defend and that is what we did. It was so important not to lose. Four months ago, we would probably have got beat, so that is a positive."
Buoyed by taking four points from two games for the first time since following a home win over Norwich City with a draw at QPR in August, Leeds make their first trip to Roots Hall knowing victory is paramount.
Midweek wins for Barnsley, Southend and Hull City mean another defeat in Essex today would leave United six points adrift of safety and in grave danger of dropping out of the top two divisions for the first time.
Burnley may be sinking like a stone in the Championship table along with Luton and QPR, but United are starting to run out of games.
The common consensus among supporters is that the fight will be over if they fail to win in Essex.
Douglas said: "Everyone is positive. There is no point in being down about it. There is still a long way to go and we are capable of going on a run. Hopefully, it can start at Southend.
"We are in a difficult position but there is a long way to go. The key is not to look back, but instead look forward.
"It should be a good atmosphere and something that, as footballers, we will all look forward to. Southend will have a good crowd there and we have had a great crowd going to the away games all season.
"We will have to be patient. We know they will give us everything they have got, but if we defend well and play our way into the game we will be okay. We have the players to get a result.
"The great thing is we have players who have played at the very highest level. Everyone knows it is a massive game. It is one we need to win and I am sure we will."
On the battle to avoid relegation to the third tier, Douglas added: "I am someone who doesn't look at the table. It is whatever we do that counts. If we can go on a winning run, we will get out of trouble. And we have the players to do that. At Christmas, we looked doomed so when we pull out (of the bottom three) it will be great. The way it has gone, when we stay up the lads will have a great time."
Douglas recently became United's third captain of the season after both Paul Butler and Kevin Nicholls were removed from the post by Dennis Wise.
It is an honour that the Republic of Ireland international is relishing. He said: "It is something I have always wanted to do. It is a privilege to be captain of Leeds United.
"I just try to and do what I am used to doing, playing and giving 110 per cent. I don't rant and rave or anything like that. I let my football do the talking."
One problem that is looming large for Douglas is a possible three-game suspension with the midfielder having already collected 14 bookings. One more yellow card and the Leeds captain will be forced to sit on the sidelines.
He said: "I have had 14 bookings, but 10 of them have not been deserved. But I won't change my style. If I did that, I would be half the player I am."

Southend is 'must-win', warns Blake

ROBBIE BLAKE insists Leeds United's relegation showdown with Southend United this weekend is "one of the biggest games in the club's history".
The two clubs have been locked in the battle to avoid dropping out of the Championship all season and the Roots Hall meeting could go a long way towards deciding their respective fates.
Defeat for Leeds is unthinkable with it meaning the Shrimpers, who moved out of the bottom three for the first time since September on Tuesday night, would move six points clear of Dennis Wise's side.
A United win, however, would change the picture considerably and leave the Elland Road faithful in hopeful mood ahead of back-to-back home games.
Blake said: "It is massive and one of the biggest games in the club's history. In terms of six-pointers, it is that big.
"At the start of this week, we would have settled for seven points from three games. Now we have to achieve it by winning down there. Three points is a must."
Blake has fond memories of Southend with his full debut for Bradford City having come there almost a decade ago. The Bantams travelled to Roots Hall in April, 1997, for a relegation six-pointer and came away with a point that ultimately kept City up as Southend were relegated from the second tier.
Blake said: "It was my full debut under Chris Kamara for Bradford. I didn't score, but I played okay and we ended up staying up a few weeks later. That would be nice again."
Leeds, who have been in the relegation zone since November, could have been going to Southend as a side no longer rooted to the bottom of the table.
A point was secured from the midweek trip to Leicester, but it could have been so much better had United not gifted an equaliser to the home side in stoppage time just seconds after Blake had opened the scoring.
The Leeds striker said: "It was a good point but also disappointing in the way we conceded the goal. It was my stupid celebration in running to our fans (at the opposite end of the Walkers Stadium from where Blake scored) that didn't help.
"It meant once we were all back on the pitch, we were in our own half and they could kick off. I got a bit carried away and I suppose these things do happen. But I was gutted when it went in.
"Armando (Sa) challenged their lad when the cross came in and I just thought 'this is going in'. Casper then unluckily slipped, if he hadn't done that then he would have caught it easily.
"Those are the little things that have been happening to us all season. We have to stop them, starting with this massive game at Southend."
On the relegation battle, Blake added: "When we come off the pitch, we normally find out how the other sides have done straight away from someone in the tunnel.
"I know we have to concentrate on ourselves, but with eight games to go you have to look at the other results.
"They didn't go well again for us on Tuesday. It was sickening to hear Southend had won with a late goal, but at least Derby equalised at home to QPR. Burnley are in it now after losing again (at Southend).
"We just need to keep our belief. Hull have shown what two wins can do because they are nearly clear of it now.
"I am still confident we can get out of trouble because there are 24 points to play for.
"We have never been on a run this season, what a great time it would be to start now. It would be perfect timing."
Tore Andre Flo could be back on the bench at Southend along with Rui Marques, who has missed the last two games through injury. Alan Thompson (hamstring) is likely to be out, however, along with Eddie Lewis (back).
